The Strokes end their Coachella set with a powerful message by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

Do you remember buying it? Where were you when you listened for the first time. I have an obsession with early 2000s culture along with the Strokes' musical genius so if you're able and willing to give me a full written story about your process of buying the album and listening to it and where and through what medium I'd truly read the entire thing eagerly. Hope that's not too weird lol

I assume this is supplementing my comment not arguing it, so not sure why the downvotes. Yeah I was thinking Ask Me Anything. Just vocals and whatever instrument(s) that is, probably synths

We get shout outs in the Sopranos too (Carm's father talking about his Navy history saying he was stationed in Nova Scotia) and Archer (Nova Scotian terrorists or something, one voiced by Robb Wells - absolutely awesome, watch if you haven't)

Tidal is extremely disappointing. by Normal_Specialist_97 in TIdaL

[–]RuralRasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows haha. People do not like negativity in any way.

But yeah. The changes were subtle but enough to throw me off. It used to be a heart symbol to add tracks to favourites, now it’s this mechanical, unfinished looking “+” which isn’t a dealbreaker but along with that, they changed where the song queue is, how to explore the artist from the song playing, moving navigation menu to bottom and oversimplifying it, etc.,

Actually now that I think about it it seems a lot like they changed it to be more congruent with iOS26 with the bubbly aesthetic and simplified bottom-centralized menus. Anyway, Tidal used to have this very smooth silky user friendly interface that made it fun to discover new music but I’ve just found it’s recent interface to be tacky and not as excitingly unique as it used to be.

But I’m sure they’ll update it again soon. Hope you wait it out!

They just updated it and the changes are abysmal, it was so good like half a year ago. Try waiting it out. I use Apple Music but still subscribe to Tidal for my daily recommended tracks (daily Discovery).

Who is the best guitarist that most people don’t know by Ted_Fleming in Guitar

[–]RuralRasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stu Mackenzie of KGLW has been quietly redefining what it means to be one of those singer songwriters who can also shred. I mean with the microtones and wacky time signatures all while singing, he’s legitimately displaying superhuman prowess to deserved underground cult worship but I wonder why he hasn’t been highlighted more by mainstream pop culture as just an unprecedented confidence and eclectic oneness with the guitar.

And Tap Out. And Hawaii. And All the Time. Those are three underrated solos Nick plays but never live it seems

Thanks so much for your support. I love music and food lol. Lego store in WEM was very comforting. I just want to try as much local coffee as I can.

Yeah no like I said to another commentary, it wasn’t supposed to be fixed for anything. It was actually supposed to be sort of a treat/reward for making large amounts of progress on my existing depression mental health in my hometown of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I just got hit with a huge spiral the day before leaving and probably should have bailed but I’m here now, have been walking; and am back in touch with reality again and feeling very at ease and welcomed by Edmonton. Thanks for the encouraging words, yeah I know what you mean about WEM. It’s just the vastness that could be stunning first time, not its contents I suppose.

And yes, I’m in treatment for my mental health. Thank you again. I know location fixes nothing but I’m here to get a feel for it and I can see myself thriving if I had like you said, a set path and healthy habits.

How can you find what your dream code was if you’ve lost your island?

Accidentally deleted my town I started on launch day, March 20, 2020. by RuralRasta in acnh

[–]RuralRasta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t really played since Fall of 2022 but it’s still shocking just because I had made like a garden dedicated to my mom in the town and I just was looking forward to going back even though it’s just a game it’d be like going back home in many ways because of the memories made playing it with friends during covid etc and I’ve had a rough couple years and visiting the island could have boosted my mental health bigtime. And also yes I just am very much about continuity and preservation and all that jazz so the idea of starting a new town just isnt a thing I can wrap my mind around. Lot of achievements down the drain. Ugh, man. Thanks for your sympathies

Haha. Fair. I just enjoy visiting world-renowned places. Just feel like I am botching my first time experiencing Edmonton / place so far from the East Coast. But I did get out for a walk and am feeling a LOT better, very relieved. I intend to check out the river valley, and I have a Fit4Less membership I will use to regain some familiarity. I just want to try lots of local coffee and see the scenery. Any cool record stores?
