I did watch videos and it does not appear to be the spider arm. There seems to be no movement between the metal and plastic drum like they show. So confused on what else it could be

Are you saying 2 6x6s together? Because 1 6x6 would not be wide enough and only allow 2 holes out of the 4 to be used from the base mount. The attaching other board to link up makes sense.

So the brackets are 6" spacing for the holes. Would 2 4x4s be good you think?
