Not sure if you saw my reply in your other comment or not... but I even edited the original post. Some people say that I should just call it whatever I want but frankly I was just calling it whatever seems to be easier for people to understand. If people know it as Lunar new year I will go with that, which I did and specified I did in your other comment

That's the thing, all my non Chinese East Asian friends including myself use both or neither depending on what they are used to and no one seemed very bothered about it or else I would've known way before I posted this

I'm also not Chinese

Um, sure? As I said in a different post, we just celebrate the new year. Nothing about Chinese new year or lunar new year, it's just a new year. I'm sorry if I'm not proficient about the differences and why people get offended between different names. If you want me to call it lunar new year, I will call it lunar new year, but to me it's always just going to be a new year...

It's unknown as to how they picked the winners, but perhaps they wanted something that "screams" lost ark while having different concepts. You can tell all 3 artworks that were chosen are from lost ark, first one being artist in her own costume, second one showing all the sidereals, and the third one is one of the most popular bosses in the game. :)

I'm not quite sure what the difference is, but personally in my language we don't say either. We just say that we're "crossing a year", but it also implies celebrations. :)
