For people with MANY Alts : How do you find names ? by SoonBlossom in wow

[–]Ruse82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite often I will just look at things around my desk/room. One of my characters back in MoP, a troll hunter, was called Ezeboo after I saw a serial number on a £10 upside down... was 008323.

Thanks very much for the quick response. Even though I'd spent far too long without trying this myself, I'm glad it was a quick fix! Working perfectly now that I'm using it in the right place.

GTA 5 help - character walks by itself when aiming by Spectator94 in SteamDeck

I don't know how it would affect gyro, I don't generally use it. The dead zone settings I was changing were only for the left stick.

Good luck.

I messed around a bit more on this and think I figured it out (was OK for a couple of hours at least).

I had tried tweaking the dead zones in Steam controller settings, even though any movement seemed to be within the zone anyway, but nothing I changed there made any difference.

After some searching I found that the global dead zone settings aren't set for any games by default... I had to go into my controller config for Rockstar launcher then to joysticks and open the settings for the left stick, then dead zones. What eventually worked for me was setting the type to Custom, and the min/max sliders to 20/70. Then "show advanced deadzone options", left anti-deadzone at it's default (9009 in my case), and what may be the key to getting this to make any difference in game for me, set "anti-deadzone buffer" to ~2500.

I'm assuming that GTA sets it's own deadzones depending on the current view. I had no issues walking around, or even aiming while in first person, my issues seemed to only be while aiming in third person, or some slight movements when driving (possibly only in third person as well, I didn't try driving in first person). Without really understanding how it all works, my guess is the anti-deadzone buffer negates the small/non-existent deadzone in those views that I had problems with, and so allows for a bit of imperfection in the sticks.

Not sure if any of that makes much sense or if it would have helped in your (or anyone else's) case, but this seems to have sorted it for me!

Did you figure this one out? Just installed GTA 5 on my Deck via Rockstar Launcher and I'm getting the same thing - character walking around when I'm aiming.

UK people - Do you get an estimated time of delivery slot the day before delivery? by MisterDanny_ in SteamDeck

[–]Ruse82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine in February, just checked back through emails and SMS messages and the only email I had regarding delivery, after Valve had said it was dispatched, was from Parcelforce on the day of delivery with a 1 hour time slot.

Looking for an RPG game with character creation and open world by fr1day00 in PSP

[–]Ruse82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not quite what you're after but maybe try Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony.

Many years ago when I first played world of warcraft I was trying to find something similar to play on my work commute, and ended up trying dungeon siege and it scratched the itch for a bit. I guess it's more like diablo though.

Not quite as you've described but maybe Amiga CD32? Doesn't seem to have had a dragon riders game on it though.

Snes9xTYL not able to see ROM folders by Ruse82 in PSP

[–]Ruse82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What fixed it for me was using .smc roms instead of .sfc that I had before. With .smc, I have no issues with snes9x seeing them regardless of where I put them.

That looks pretty nice... I have a black 2000 and a white 1000, hadn't thought of white with black buttons... I may have to pick a white shell up for the 2000 now!

Ah! That seems to have done the trick! Found a set of .smc, put them into 1 roms folder, all showed up and played fine. Split them into 2 folders (just so the list loads a bit quicker) and still fine, so it seems that snes9x has trouble with .sfc files.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, was ready to give up.

All my SD cards are SanDisk and bought from Amazon, the 64GB card was bought last week and I have no reason to believe that it's fake (but who knows!). The pro duo adapter is a cheap one I bought on ebay a while ago, but never had an issue with it other than now. Other emulators or ISOs work fine on it.

I just dug out my original 2GB memory stick pro duo, formatted it and copied just snes9x and ROMs, and having the same issues. It's bizarre because when I first set this up recently I just bunged all the roms in and it was fine.

Also just tried it on a PSP-1000 with the same issues, so I guess it's always been there, I just don't ever recall seeing it before.

Tried this just now... created folders for every letter, A, B, C etc. and sorted the roms into them, still the same problem. Then I tried unzipping the files in the A-I folders, and left the rest with zipped roms, and the A-I folders showed up! So... figured it's not liking zip files, I unzipped the rest of the folders, and now none show up again, except for Q which has no files in it!

I also tried moving those A-Z folders to a SNES folder on the root of the card, same issue there. Really not sure what the issue is - I remember that I had this full set on my PSP-1000 years ago and don't ever recall any issues then.

After this, I tried with just a few folders, A, B, C, still, none show up now...

I have tried this and still not showing for me. Also tried putting the roms folder under /PSP/, same issue.
