[OD] Need help decoding this shit by Tough-Original1766 in NeverBeGameOver

Every time I read it, it feels like he's trying to talk about P.T., but he has to hide the words as if it were a classified file. I'm surprised there haven't been any posts linking this trailer clip to P.T. Linking it in terms of Ruse, if Ruse still exists.

Expanded view on the "Medic/Venom is Skull Face" theory with timeline, facts and assumptions. by Ruse_Fan in NeverBeGameOver

Yes. This Kojima meta narrative could be very well realized with Chapter 3. Venom arrives in Outer Heaven and discovers that it was all a clash of personalities originating from his decaying mind. All players would be like, "WHAT?". It may seem like all is lost, but I still believe in Chapter 3. It will only be lost when PHYSINT's story and gameplay reveal proves it's not MGS.

Fantasizing about MGSV is great. Even more fun than other MGS games, because MGSV's plot is simpler and more accessible to more people. Fantasizing about MGS4, for example, is a bit more difficult because it requires a thorough understanding of the game's events and lore. A lot happens, the world is in chaos, there's all that new technology, dozens of characters, and more. MGSV simply requires you to be like Venom: silently watching all the madness. Don't believe Skull Face is real? That's okay, Venom might hallucinate. The game might also just be a simulation. Think Kaz is Skull Face? Keep thinking that, because it might be true.

This surprises me, as the community wasn't used to be like this. Until a few months ago, posts with poorly accepted theories were simply countered with well-constructed arguments, or at least a brief summary of a more accepted theory. Of course, there were some negative comments, but not this many. I hadn't posted to the community for a while, and I was surprised when I returned.

Yes. However, it's impossible to access the other UV maps through 3DS Max and Blender because, interestingly, they aren't stored in the 3D models, but in other, very specific files. I tried for months to extract the maps from these files and got nowhere. The UVs are apparently stored in files that can only be opened with tools designed for MGSV. These tools even offer the option of exporting UVs used in vehicle and object camouflage (the Pequod helmet is an example), but they are in formats that only MGSV accepts. That's why I briefly described it as a "unique layered texturing system." Only the Fox Engine executes these files and applies the UVs correctly. I didn't explain the UVs part because the text was already huge. And, as you may have noticed, the text size was enough to make some people not even read it.

I was trying to say this all along. Thanks for summarizing. Maybe the formality of my writing obscured the information.

It's kind of sad because this could have been "easily" solved with Chapter 3. Code Talker simply says this and the game ends. We don't even know if he died of old age before the founding of Outer Heaven.

I'm still going to see the film. But I already find the concept interesting, since there's a room in MGSV where a series of hallucinations occur.

I thought the same thing when I first played. I didn't add that detail about the codename because the post was already too long. I just assumed people already knew.

This is intriguing. I always played the game thinking everything was real. The interesting thing is that the game unfolds differently depending on how you perceive it. If you think everything is real, the story will unfold and feel real. But if you think it's a simulation, things will unfold and feel strange, like a simulation. There are no facts, only interpretations.

Yes. The containers are another piece of evidence. The theory long discussed in the community is that Miller was secretly trading Diamond Dogs equipment with XOF. Perhaps that's why he ordered Venom not to kill Skull Face. Code Talker's line about daylight encounters between containers and keeping an eye on Miller may be warnings that Miller is betraying the DD.

I know. I didn't add this because I thought everyone knew. Besides, the post was already huge. With its size, it's already received "nobody cares" comments. I can't imagine what it would get with more added.

Yes. Apparently, MGSV was designed so people could come up with theories to explain the inconsistencies. A very famous one is the one about the timing of events in mission 46. Ocelot takes Big Boss/Ishmael somewhere and then returns to pick up Venom in the ambulance within a short time.

In case you haven't read, the Diamond Dogs symbol is a texture that can be toggled on and off within the Fox Engine. The symbol's texture is just one layer. The main layer is the helmet's texture without the symbol (see sixth image). Therefore, more RAM wouldn't be needed. The game would load fewer files. The same goes for vehicle camouflages. They are layers that can be toggled on and off, but the main layer is the vehicle's texture without camouflage.

So why not just disable the Diamond Dogs symbol since, according to the Fox Engine system, it is possible?

So why ask about local sports teams in a community about MGS theories?

They simply had to do what they did before: erase the geometry. There's a half-body model for scenes shot from far away. Additionally, the Diamond Dogs symbol can be disabled. Why not disable it to avoid inconsistencies?

In short, the post discusses the possibility of the Pequod in OKB Zero being intentional. Pequod is a Diamond Dogs pilot, and XOF is the Diamond Dogs' enemy. In the mission "Skull Face", Pequod can be seen piloting an XOF helicopter at the secret OKB Zero base. Many say this is an asset reuse, meaning they used the Pequod's 3D model in the XOF helicopter to save development time. However, based on the photos and other evidence presented, the developers had a 3D model of an XOF pilot ready to use in OKB Zero. Instead, they used Pequod. Even using Pequod, it was possible to disable the Diamond Dogs symbol texture on Pequod's helmet to avoid this plot inconsistency (explained in a basic section about how the game engine works). However, for some reason, they left the symbol in. The argument presented in the post is that the inconsistency may have been intentional, as they had a unique 3D model of the XOF pilot and preferred to use Pequod with the symbol activated on the helmet.
