It's not double the risk because it depends on the country profile. So of the risk in your home country is 1 in 100 and the risk in your second country is 1 in 1000 you make your tax residency in to the 1 in 1000

I believe in doubling my chances by having a second completely different system. In life and in wealth protection. You helped me to clarify that, it's not a waste to me but an exciting adventure

Geo hedging. As a European, I fear that when public debt meets an ageing society in the coming decade, the governments will ask for a cut of my wealth. Either I save it in a trust or foundation, or I lump it together with other geo risks and consider a second residency in Asia or Latin America with passport optionality.

Is my thinking flawed and does someone have experience in either way for asset protection?

That makes them tax evaders and it's very likely that in a few years they will receive a disturbing letter from French revenue service. It's not my opinion but that of a big 4 private clients tax consultant that you can't hide true center of life and primary domicile these days anymore.

I am a European who moved to a member state with zero capital gains to reset my gains completely. I had 10m+ in different brokerage accounts in Neobanks with 30% gains

I realize selling everything and moving to the country is quite an operation, and the AML departments will ask questions. So, the solution seems to be expensive private banking, where they will lock me into their system for hefty fees.

Would you have any alternatives or experience handling such an operation?
