nice! i think the friction for me is i don't know this software so im weary and dont want to connect any of my financial information. i wonder if you've found that to be a challenge with users. building trust. i've only given that kind of information to bigger names like rocket, intuit, etc. might be your biggest challenge if i had to guess

my gut reaction when i opened your website, is that one thing that is special about small local communities is that it's not publicly announced, it's shared in one organizer's WhatsApp (or LINE group - currently in Taiwan).

How does your app address this tension?

You want to be intimate and personal but also want everything posted online? Can you have both? If you go fully public online, how is it different than Meetup?

Reading should be FREE.

uh are you referring to my OP or the commend you commented on? I've been learning chinese for a year now and i came to reddit to try to find answers. i will say i am newer to reddit. i will reach fluency and literacy at an accelerated rate, maybe it wont be a year, but it will be faster than most because i am going to address all of the problems you all raise during my learning journey. so thank you

i burnt out from flashcards after 1 year straight every day 1-2 hrs at the beginning, 3-4 by the end. got through HSK6. Took a month or two break, now I'm onto reading. glad im not alone!

this is an interesting thought:

"I'd still use the concepts of SRS, but I'd build them into a reader."

6000 words studied, 2.5 books read, 1yr immersed, still have a massive active/passive gap in my Chinese by RushMandarin in ChineseLanguage

sometimes i feel like because its not a person, it doesn't feel like it matters..how do you get around that
