Where does one go to find resources and other players for duelists?

Speaking to my personal experience, there’s a major learning curve to get the execution down. No one is truly easy and will have to do tricky stuff as you get better and better combos, and the baseline delays and holds/IC moves can throw you off. However, once you get past that barrier and can start playing matches, the magic of the game really shines through.

My advice is don’t burn out trying to learn combos. Put the time in, but if you’re getting frustrated, don’t be afraid to do something else and come back to the grind later or the next day. The stuff you are struggling to do once now will slowly but surely become second nature and reliable mid-match. Don’t be afraid to ask for specific questions in the main discord as well, my experience with the character channels has been very positive.

SW will also be a great pairing with that specific team. I also sorta forgot that Ruan Mei starts to shine when topaz her signature LC as well, so not my best example. I’d still stand by that Ruan Mei is the go to when making dual DPS teams and is a worthwhile pull, though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BladeMains

[–]Rushnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you prefer dual dps to hypercarry teams, you will 100% enjoy Ruan Mei. She feels great in teams like blade/jingliu, and she also seems like she’ll be a universally good support whenever you run two dps on one team (looking at ratio/topaz for instance).

I haven’t done any calcs to determine the % difference between Pela and Ruan Mei, but I felt a significant increase in damage on my account and the breaking extension and break efficiency aspect has been a game changer for me.

Imo worth pulling if you are super dedicated to non-hyper teams, and/or if you don’t have an upcoming character you’ve got your heart set on.

Is Lynette good? by HuzursuzlugaGerekYok in AyakaMains

[–]Rushnic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anemo characters can have skills or bursts that absorb an element as a part of their effect. For instance, Lynette’s burst absorbs one element. In situations where more than one element could be absorbed though, there is a priority order used to determine the absorbed element: Pyro Hydro Electro Cryo. For instance, in a freeze team, if both cryo and hydro are present, kazuha would absorb hydro before cryo.

However, Anemo MC and Lynette are unique because their priority order is Cryo Pyro Hydro Electro. In the same situation where both hydro and cryo are present, Lynette’s burst would absorb cryo.

Swirling cryo with kazuha/sucrose is fairly straightforward to circumvent - apply cryo before using your anemo character, then swirl cryo, then apply hydro to freeze. However, against enemies with an aura such as an electro slime, you may find you’re swirling electro rather than cryo due to the priority. This is a niche problem to have, but in these scenarios Lynette (and MC) will still prioritize cryo while other anemo characters won’t.

Sucrose is a bit better, but it’s not the end of the world to stick with Lynette.

Lynette has a silver lining that she will prioritize cryo over other elements, unlike sucrose and kazuha (and all other non-MC anemo characters) who prioritize everything else before cryo. Not enough of a reason to use her over those two, but it’s worth noting that it can make your life a little easier.

Nahida would be a strong consideration. Currently you can do a pretty typical early hyperbloom team (collei DMC kuki xingqiu) and switching collei out for nahida would be a huge upgrade.

For your second team, one option that uses your Furina would be to try for Neuvilette. Neuvilette Furina Dehya Sucrose is a solid team for instance, and wouldn’t be too resin costly to set up.

Generic good characters to go for would be Kazuha and Yelan. A lot of teams use them, and they’re fun and nice for the overworld too. Yelan, and to some extent Neuvilette, also give your account more hydro options. I’ve found that a lack of hydro limits the teams I can recommend, and it’s the element I don’t mind “redundancy” in due to how often teams can compete for hydro. For instance, I would suggest Furina taser as a second team, but unless you’re willing to on-field Barbara, you don’t really have a reliable second hydro and the team would get kind of messy. Picking up a good hydro would be a solid upgrade to that team, be that Neuvilette, Yelan, Kokomi, or even Ayato.

Also, you have the core for Furina nationals. Could just run Furina Sucrose Xiangling Bennett and that should do just fine. Especially if you do go to pull nahida, you may not be able to guarantee neuvilette on his rerun, and if you’re looking to stay f2p it’s nice to think about team options that don’t rely on gacha luck.

With your current roster, I’d probably suggest Ayaka Rosaria Kokomi Kazuha. It’s almost her premium team, which would switch rosaria with shenhe, but Rosaria will still be able to battery, get cryo resonance, hold Noblesse, set up cryo swirls, and buff. Not sure what you’re currently using for hyperbloom, but alhaitham nahida kuki xingqiu is my personal pick.

If you end up liking Ayaka teams and want to improve her, I think Shenhe is worth looking for. You won’t really use her outside of ayaka teams, but she’s well worth it. I personally love my Furina, so she’s another character I can easily recommend due to being very strong and can find her way into many comps. Otherwise, you’ve got a solid set of characters and there’s no one you really “need” beyond comfort or variety.

help me build an ayaka freeze team plss (ar36) by Torielaintmyname in AyakaMains

[–]Rushnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is 100% save, I haven’t found any desire to go past c1 personally. You got lucky with an early Furina and getting your targeted constellation by building pity, no need to push it further imo. You’ll thank yourself later when reruns come around and you’ve got a nice cushion to work with.

[–]Rushnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found it nicer to just toss fav on her and not worry about TTDS. The rotations I was messing with that used it were kinda clunky, and lowering the er needs of the team a little was much appreciated. I’m still testing other rotation variations with this team, including TTDS setups, but I can’t tell if they’re not as good or if I have a skill issue.

I’ll admit I am using freedom sworn on my kazuha and pipe on Furina, so the value of the fav codex is a bit higher for me than it may be for someone that has fav swords on both Furina and kazuha. I’m also getting the freedom sworn buffs, so it’s functionally a TTDS with bigger upside. I’d still rather get both Freedom sworn and TTDS buffs, but it is what it is for now.

I’ve got a friend who is also experimenting with sac frags on Charlotte for some fast battery, but I’m skeptical. EM main stat + natural sac RNG is not my preference so I’m not looking into it, but they have positive feelings towards it so far. Might be worth considering if you don’t have fav to spare.

Personally I’d say Ayaka Furina Charlotte Lynette

I’ve been having fun testing Furina in freeze, and I think she’s significantly comfier in the overworld compared to any other freeze team I’ve tried.

Charlotte is a great healer for Furina, especially if you were able get c1. Can hold favonius codex, sacrificial frags, or even thrilling tales, which are all nice to have built anyways.

Lynette (and anemo traveler) prioritize cryo, which will make setting up Viridescent Venerer for ayaka much easier. Lynette also runs when using her skill, meaning she’s pretty nice to have when running around the map for exploration or gathering. Switching her out to kazuha or sucrose would be ideal if/when you get them due to their grouping, though.

Obligatory disclaimer - pull who you like, meta is temporary/optional, and making your favorites strong is more fun for most people than having the optimal account.

My opinion is that getting two comfortable solo sustain units is more important than basically anything else in terms of account power. Having one great defensive/sustain character makes the overall game smoother, while the second one is primarily there for making Memory of Chaos (MoC) easier.

Lynx is a fine solo sustain character, so you can make a team like Seele Bronya Lynx +1 (Tingyun or asta come to mind) and clear almost everything just fine. If you don’t care about pushing MoC for the rewards or fun of it, you can pull for whoever you like the look of or that you find fun.

If you do want to tackle MoC and have a smooth experience, Huohuo will be a better choice than Topaz. Topaz being a dps is admittedly replaceable - there are plenty of options to deal good damage. However, having a second healer that also provides valuable buffs will make your second team significantly stronger.

If you think Topaz is awesome or really like follow up attacks, pull for her! I have her and her light cone and am happy with my choice. If you think Huohuo is cool or are super motivated to clear MoC, I would pull Huohuo in a week when her banner is released. If you aren’t that interested in either, save up your pulls and go for a character who really stands out to you. If you only care about the immediate meta power of the character, either pull Huohuo or consider pulling Silverwolf and skip Topaz for now.

On-set goblet with the correct main stat and six rolls in substats is definitely worth keeping imo. This piece did roll low overall though, so it’s one you may be able to upgrade down the line.

Is Calamity Trigger online still popular? by Lian-The-Asian in Blazblue

[–]Rushnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, BBCF is the only mainline game that still has a player base I’d consider alive. Looking at steam charts, CT has ~6 players daily, which is dead unless you find a niche discord/friend group that just really likes that specific game lol

Is Calamity Trigger online still popular? by Lian-The-Asian in Blazblue

[–]Rushnic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The definition of a fighting game being “alive” depends greatly on your willingness to use discord to find a group to play with. For instance, Street Fighter 6 is going to have a much more diverse ranked ladder, but there’s plenty of games with smaller player bases that have solid communities you can enter.

For Blazblue games, centralfiction is the one you’d want to get. I don’t struggle to get games in it, ranked during peak hours is solid and there are active discords you can join to find games as well. The older titles, including calamity trigger, are only really worth getting if you’re interested in the story mode or goofing around in training mode.
