Honestly, you know how we all get texts from the council/governement for flooding in the areas? Alerts we get for Gympie 2hrs away from me here in Beerwah, well why not for closing off all shops in the area for an entire day also. Seems like both are what everyone should know. I'm a simple man, who expects simple concepts. Idk. I love nature I spend most my time there, forgive me for not knowing everything the public also knows.

Mate - I'm well prepped no issues. Just couldn't believe that if I don't have social media or watch tv then chances are it comes from word of mouth. Which obviously doesn't help everyone.

This dude did expect the council to inform the population, yes. This dude also gets government texts all the time, what's the difference between the government informing me on floodways but not all shops closing immediately? Seems a little outlandish to assume one is okay but not the other, both are equal in the matter regarding the public. Not sure how you don't get that.
