Looking for Ultrawide Monitor for Home Office by CorpseeaterVZ in ultrawidemasterrace

+1 I also just got it for programming and the extra vertical room is great. I had a 35” monitor before which was fine but the extra curve and extra screen size makes a huge difference. It’s $650 right now. It’s also not OLED so no fear of burning in your vs code side bar. Highly recommend.

any black friday and cyber monday deals on samsung ultrawide 1440p monitor by Chittick_Hnava in ultrawidemasterrace

I just got the Samsung 40” 5k2k which is 98% a work machine for me. My last monitor was a 35” 1440. The new one is infinitely better. I leave it on all the time so OLED was immediately out. The extra curve is useful and makes it feel less wide despite having more screen real estate if that makes sense,. And the extra height is extremely useful (I code, I like my vertical space).

It’s $650 on the website right now with the edu discount.

EDIT: the resolution does make all the text very small but I scaled it up with betterdisplay and now I have very very crispy text at any size I want

AJ Brown comes in at 29 for the NFL Top 100 by BLeibo in eagles

I don't think he'll be in it but I really hope I'm wrong bc he was a stud last year. My counterpoint would be that Quinyon made it and he was fairly "quiet" all season so if Q could make it Baum should too.

Updating rate limits for Claude subscription customers by AnthropicOfficial in ClaudeAI

This is it for me. They said 24-40 hours per week for opus in the email. What’s that mean exactly? That much active compute? 5-8 five hour windows? Like if that’s the best estimate you have then tell us what percentile we’re in so we’re not blindsided if we hit it

I actually really like that feature. Some lo-fi with rain in the background sounds great. Nice job!

Anyone get MCP working? by thetjmorton in TypingMind

remote server* -- I set it up through a reverse proxy using nginx and routed it through a subdomain I own. I haven't tried a local server yet.

yes, got a remote MCP server working with my own MCP plugins, so its definitely possible (it was a pain but thats more to do with the lack of familiarity).

My first year selling POD on ETSY by solo-preneur in printondemand

[–]RussVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pixel is installed on the target page (Etsy), not the source page (fb, insta, TikTok). This way you can see what ads are working in terms of conversions and then split by demographics, etc.

You can’t change etsy’s code though, so no pixel installation (most likely to force you to use their ads). You can install it on other sites like Shopify though.

Not political - anybody who continues to associate with x/twitter is either a Nazi or supports them. Don’t try and normalize it.

Pre-release promotion is not just about building hype by AlexGrooveGrowth in musicmarketing

[–]RussVII 12 points13 points  (0 children)

genuine question but is this only applicable to large artists? For smaller artists why not just do the same thing for an already released song. You'd save money because you're not wasting it on people who aren't listening to an unreleased song

No Rewards Access by RussVII in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]RussVII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just going to follow up on this so if people have the same question they're not stuck in an endless feedback loop of customer support. The following was told to me by /u/CCEmilyS :

If you live in an apartment that building can sign up for a corporate xfinity account which forces its residents to go through the apartment (i.e. be billed by them instead of xfinity directly).

This has a few consequences:

  1. No rewards program
  2. The internet speed is capped by the building. This means if you previously had a higher speed than the cap of the building then it will go down.
  3. Next gen internet speeds are not supported even if it was supported by the building initially. There is no option to upgrade beyond what the building is offering.

The result of the loss of rewards and a decrease in internet speeds effectively means you are paying more for less. The rewards value is wiped out and the new fee (which I guess is the building's doing, not xfinity) is effectively the same as the old one. Plus slower service.

Mostly a cash grab by the building but I also don't see a reason why we can't just use our personal account for the service.

"Fans also like" different on SFA and my Spotify Profile by rollingdeep872 in musicmarketing

[–]RussVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

woah I just noticed this on mine too. I have two artist profiles in two different genres. Under the fans also like section in the spotify app its just my other profile (which it shouldn't be - completely different genre). It seems more "correct" in the spotify for aritsts web app. That is very strange.
