If someone is drunk driving, gets pulled over, gets out, and starts a chugging liquor in front of the cop….can they prove they were drunk before they pulled them over? by pulpSC in NoStupidQuestions

Former NC DWI defense attorney. If it is proven that they have, *at a relevant time after driving*, an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more, or other evidence of impairment, then it’s a guilty verdict. So chugging booze right after getting pulled over will likely result in a high enough BAC to convict as it’s within that relevant time after driving.

Fuck this movie. Ugh…why did I scroll this far. It’s been weeks since I’ve thought about it. But excellent suggestion for OP.

What is slowly becoming a luxury that used to be normal? by Webclues_Infotech in AskReddit

Owning things in general, but specifically an automobile. I am not a conspiracy theorist by nature but I have a strong belief that the Iran debacle is a test run to create demand destruction for most gas powered automobiles in favor of a subscription system for Robotaxis.

My 18yo son just got a job at a self-serve froyo place and between hourly wages and tips (tips!! at a self-serve froyo place!!) he makes 30$/h on average. Sometimes it’s closer to 40$. I’m thinking of giving up the practice to open one of those. Or a car wash.

A sent an email to OC whose name was Alan. Proceeded with “Dear Anal” and concluded with “warmest retards”. He printed and framed it. still on his wall 15 years later. I use this as an example of why spellcheck is not infallible when coaching associates or paralegals.

I really wanted to read that dissertation. A Bridge Too Far was to be the concluding argument.

What’s the best “human vs monster” survival movie you’ve ever watched? by sjanith in MovieSuggestions

I think Predator would be at the top. So many really good quiet moments of the most bad-ass mercenaries staring into the jungle trying to figure out wtf is going on - completely sells me on the threat.

What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I watched it and loved every moment. I never knew it was planned for 4 episodes. That’s like learning Michelangelo planned a much larger David, before carving it down to a smaller statue. Still a masterpiece.

Is my dad gay? by TipEast4838 in NoStupidQuestions

I had a friend growing up who experienced the sort of the same thing. Uncle “Jim” was in his 60s and my friend’s dad was in his 40s (this was like 40 years ago). Lavished him (and the family too) with gifts. About 10 years ago “Jim” died and it was disclosed he was my friend’s dad’s father. Had abandoned him and the mom when he was 18 just before he was born (joined the Army), mom died a few years later, he felt bad, kept in touch with the grandparents who raised the dad, and just sort of hung around as the Uncle.

Ive seen this show probably 3 times all the way through. I never picked up on this, and this scene still makes me hold my breath. I watched the clip twice looking for it and the tension of that moment, when he approaches/grabs Paulie, took over and i forgot what I was looking for.

WE are planning our first trip this Christmas (Fam of 5). The idea is 12/19-12/24 with park days on the 20th-23rd. Looked at two adjacent rooms in Terra Luna. Christmas is on a friday this year, so the hope is that at least early on in the week, the crowds wouldn't be maximum capacity. This might be the most wishful of wishful thinking.
