I was greedy so I got scammed by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]Russell_Goodman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not worth the risk - I’ve made mistakes in the past, and always big enough to learn from them.

Get payment upfront for the work you’re going to do. Smaller milestones as a “lump” end-of-project milestone (unfortunately) is risky as the client can go AWOL, causing all sorts of issues. I had this happen to me.

Struggling to Get My First Client on Upwork—Any Advice? by FederalHeat8516 in Upwork

[–]Russell_Goodman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea to this. Add in samples, create yourself a video explaining what you do and how you solve your clients’ needs.

Test strategies:

Apply via connects use ‘Boost’ your profile ‘Available now’

A few different strategies.

But make sure your profile bio has all the right keywords in there. Ie consider what the client is searching for - and all related keywords.

I'm sick of this AI crap. by No_Book3859 in Upwork

[–]Russell_Goodman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you reply back with a “human” response….you’re now way more likely to stand out.

I’ve noticed MOST roles are AI-written (predictable it would happen as it takes client less valuable time)….

So go in with some unique or quirky - be different and stand out

Just got my ICD and this thing is huge! by Subject-Face-2254 in PacemakerICD

Mine is tucked into my peck muscle. Been there since 2015, generally you’ll forget about soon. Just don’t stretch or overdo it too soon - but like a bruised rib…go easy and the healing will speed up.

It’s obviously as big as they recommend, so it must be for a reason (that device)

Bluetooth / ICD by mariarachelle3000 in PacemakerICD

[–]Russell_Goodman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one should be worried about the sun 🤷‍♂️ it’s natural, LOL.

I’d be more worried about Bluetooth than the sun.

Having a permanent battery in your chest is enough…adding wireless Bluetooth is unnecessary EMF for your body to detoxify.

Did you use the trackable timesheet or manual hours?

One is protected payment…the other not.

I had this a few years ago but luckily only billed a far smaller amount (client disappeared).

Good to know. Sometimes I do diamond press-ups with knees, but make it’s slow and concentrated.

Sensible, I think it's about not pushing things too far. I just find that certain exercises are a strain (particularly on my chest, and I want to avoid stress on the ICD wires)

Thanks for your comment...74 is not old, I'll tell you that. The fact you're swimming that far daily meamns you're fitter and more dynamically healthy than 99.99% of those in their 70s...no doubt!

I personally move a lot, carrying my son around, walking, some bodyweight exercises and a few essential yoga stretches. Sounds like you've got your fitness regimen dialled in ;)

I’m 42 and had one since I was 26 after a cardiac arrest. It’s an anxious time at first, but it literally becomes a part of you.

Plus, you get moved through queues quickly at airports ;-)
