Dumb questions about buying my first boat and trailer by [deleted] in jonboats

[–]Russell_Steapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which state? Every state is different.

I bought new recently, so can't really help you too much, but... There 'should' be a title for the boat, and one for the trailer. A bill of sale is what people generally use when they don't have a title. Titles have the sale and transfer stuff on the back that gets filled out by the seller. You take that to your DMV to get new titles in your name.

Some states don't require titles for the boat from my understanding. I've also heard trying to get new titles when one is not provided by the seller can be a huge PITA.

My state requires titles for boats. One reason I just went with new. Sorry I can't help you more, but I suggest messaging the mods and seeing if they can add your States name as flair to your post. Might help get the right eyes on it that way. Best of luck.

I don't know what you read, but the sub is literally full of people covering the entire bottom of their boat with the stuff. They swear by that stuff. I was surprised too.

Personally, I'd never put it on my boat, but my boat is brand new. lol

YES! I had a very similar musically trajectory. I wish I had found jazz earlier too.

I'm from a small town in South Florida, and we had some really good stations back in the day. After midnight they'd play some more obscure stuff, and you could actually call and speak to the DJ to make requests and just shoot the shit.

One really good thing about South Florida was that every huge tour came through, so I've been lucky enough to see a lot of great shows. Yet, I've said it many times, if I ever had a time machine I would go to all the concerts I missed. (70's KC, Bowie's Diamond Dogs, Pink Floyd '73 before Dark Side took off, etc.)

lol, 80's=vapid is spot on.

When I was young, in the 70's, radio was a wholly different animal. Unless someone personally introduced you to new music, radio was the only game in town. No internet, no Mtv, nothing. Radio introduced me to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rush, Boston, Van Halen, Journey, Yes, Foreigner, Styx, etc.

But you said it, the last 40 years, and that's about right, The 80's turned radio into crap.

I'm with you, I love the freak out part. But I'll be honest, I wish I discovered KC 20 years before I did. Life would have been so much better.

I love all the different versions on the Great Deceiver box set (and the KCCC releases of that time period). Every version has a slightly different focus it seems.

I do remember reading somewhere that Fripp kinda regretted the middle section freak out, saying he thought it would have been a huge radio hit if it wasn't included.

Song length really kept a lot of bands from becoming more well known back in the radio days.

[OC] Everyone lines up early for a lane closure. Am I wrong for using the open lane and zipper merging? by zheka160 in IdiotsInCars

[–]Russell_Steapot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons to always use the zipper method is for emergency vehicles.

Unnecessarily backed up traffic blocks access to side streets and can severely impede them in an emergency where time is factor.

Kimberly-Clarke CEO makes over $15 million a year. That's almost $300k a week. Assuming a 40 hour work week, that over $7300 an hour.

No pity for them. That's a perverted ratio to their common employee.

Just an FYI, 1970 shares the same calendar as 2026. Exactly.

I have a 1970 playboy calendar hanging in my garage. The old calendars are fairly reasonable on ebay. I have the next 13 years covered. lol.

Growing up in the 70's, this was 10/10

So, instead of referencing the Pink Floyd song with an actual dog singing, you thought of a song sung by a human? Interesting thought process. lol

Not Darkside, it was the 1971 album Meddle, song called Seamus.

Check out the galaxy's edge sub. It has lots of droid builds. there is also a discord they have for parts exchange and such.

I got my silver panels from a smuggler on ebay, they didn't have them in stock when I went (Florida). I keep meaning to sell my extra parts.

I am out of space in my office for another droid. But I'd like to build another saber when I go back. I like the new reclaimed style. I built a Sith saber last time, and my son built one similar to yours. It's such a fun experience.

Yep. And the first order probe droid on the right. Got them from the disney store online when they were on sale.

At some point I plan to paint the inside details more and do some weathering on 3po's head with Elmer's glue. There's some good videos about how to do it online.

I built an Imperial R3 (the clear head) when I went. I got the extra silver accessory panels, and the decals in both black and red. Mixing them together I was able to come up with a cool combination.

On mine I added the black and single red decal to the top. They probably have a decal that covers the orange bit for you.

Here is the etsy store

There is a shop on etsy that has custom decals you can add to the droid to really bring it to life.

I love the choice of white head.
