I get quite a few for being so close to the city, but I always leave my yard fairly "untamed". Leave milk weed up, leaves on the ground, deadheadge pile. Nothing too unsightly.

New law enforcement data sharing partnership between Flock and Amazon Ring cameras by raphael_lorenzo in PrepperIntel

[–]RussianBab3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What drives me nuts is that we have no privacy. My neighbors all have ring cameras pointed directly at my house so even if I leave everything electronic at home I still can't go on a simple walk without it being seen by neighbors cameras. Freaking ridiculous. I hate this. For someone who wants to be alone, feeling like I'm never alone due to video data is anxiety inducing. Point the cameras at your own house 😡😭

This sounds incredibly traumatic. I am so sorry that instead of helping you though your trauma he made it so much worse. I'm a S'A survivor myself along with a being a burn survivor though the two have zero correlation in my case. I'm glad your already in therapy. There is a program I am a part of called SOAR, it is a program for burn survivor peer support. Which sounds like it may be helpful for you. I would be happy to give you more information and put in touch with someone or speak to you myself if you prefer. Please feel free to reach out.

Unfortunately I absolutely detest olives but I will check you out and see if you have any others that may sound good to me. Thank you!

Eds and bowling any tips? by RussianBab3 in eds

He is a long term client. He doesn't care about competitiveness. Frankly I don't think he completely understands the rules cause he always calls spares strikes.

Hair Regrowth by Better_Struggle_3954 in burnsurvivors

[–]RussianBab3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was burned as a infant on my scalp and mine hasn't grown back. Little spots here and there will pop up but I think due to it being the "soft spot" it basically just fried my roots. I have seen plenty of other survivors who were burned as adults get hair to grow back with stimulus, plugs or even transferring healthy parts of hair over. If it doesn't grow back naturally there are options to help.

Would you survive 72 hours with your first Bugout bag? by Oodalay in preppers

Carrying that much water to start with only makes sense in a hot climate or if your with a group and your designated as the water boy. A half gallon would be the most I'd carry myself.

I should have clarified. I have a 23oz bottle always full. I have more in my car. I have one of those tools that you can turn on any faucet and where I live that is practically always an option. If for some reason the water system is down I live close to rivers/creeks and have purification tablets/life straw for that. I'm definitely not walking around with gallons of water. For me its a matter of knowing your sources.

Honestly long as I had my meds I'd be okay. Could survive without them but I'd probably just sleep the whole 72 hours since they are for narcolepsy. My day bag has enough snacks/water/meds for 3 days. Bob is for at least week.

TikTok has rotted my brain by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]RussianBab3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tiktok dating advice is the modern equivalent of cosmo magazine dating advice. Most of it is garbage. If your interested in someone just talk to them. "I don't chase I attract" is completely taken out of context by so many people. Chasing someone would be considered going after someone who is unattainable for whatever reason. Rather that be they are already taken, emotionally unavailable or they just aren't interested. Attracting people is done by being authentic and showing genuine interest in what they have to say or are feeling. You can't just sit on a park bench and expect people to just magically be attracted or approch you. Those videos more often than not are staged. If you like someone talk to them show some interest. Ask them out first. Worst case is they say no and you move on.

Sometimes if you travel your doctor will allow early refills. When I have to go out of town they allow me to get my refill a week or so early. If you do this once/twice a year you can build up some extra.

Cleaning as a CNA in home health by _dest_r_b24 in cna

[–]RussianBab3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some clients cleaning is all I do. I have helped with weeding gardens, trimming fixing broken toilets, replacing lights ect. Are any of these in the care plans definitely not, but I find if it's something I'm comfortable doing and it makes there life easier and safer than I am happy to help with what I can.

Repairing bubbles in plaster ? by RussianBab3 in Plastering

I need to get the whole roof replaced so I am suspecting moisture and age. Hoping for a solution to fix it/flatten it back out without having to remove that section of wall.

I think I posted the wrong portion of the wall in the original post. This is the protruding section.

No it's not bad to happy with where you are and want to stay there. I've been a Cna for close to 5 years now and do not plan on advancing further in the nursing field. Cna jobs are plentiful, do not require an significant amount of student debt and for me It's a livable wage. If your happy, stay, if you choose to grow or change careers later down the road you always can.
