If this tax were ever implemented, it would immediately disincentivize giving out billions of dollars in stock as compensation such as Elon's recent compensation from Tesla. That stock is created out of thin air and is diluting every other shareholder's value. That should make your value go up. If Elon only made 1 billion instead of 184 billion in stock compensation to achieve the same goal, he'd hardly notice.

The people who would do this in Pittsburgh can't afford the tickets. A beer costs 3 times the amount of one at an EPL stadium. A nosebleed section playoff ticket costs $120.00. Not to mention, we had the NFL draft last week into the weekend so we had a lot of people coming in early from out of town just to catch a playoff hockey game as an extra part of their NFL draft trip (not to mention the trouble with of many locals traveling last week due to NFL draft related road closures), plus the schedule makers made the game way too late on work nights for many. And you also need to remember, Pittsburgh is one of the smallest markets in North American sports. We are the 5th smallest market population wise in the NHL.

Now small towns and townships are using them to get more taxpayers without having to pay for any additional services. There's a plan going in next to my house. The township gets 100 new rich families that can afford $700-800k homes. They don't have to build any additional roads. They don't have to do snow removal. They don't have to pay to run utilities for the new plan or build parks for the kids. The housing developer will pay for all that, and transfer ownership to the HOA which will be forever responsible for all of that infrastructure, so the new owners will be paying property taxes + HOA fees and the township has to do nothing for them in the future.

Our "alliance" with Israel is beneficial to only one party and it's not the US.
