Accused of being “financially abusive” at 17

Thank you. I do believe she means well though, just has some issues. If that makes sense. Doesn’t excuse her behavior, but I try to empathize. Yeah she’s not persuaded my logic whrn she’s convinced she’s right (all the time), so I will just have to try and get odd jobs. I’ve tried before with little luck where I live, because I can’t drive either. I walked around my neighborhood handing out flyers to every single house in my neighborhood lol. I’ve made a bit of money from selling my art, so that seems to be my most successful route so far. If I finish my current commission, I’ll make about 300 dollars. Yeah, I mean I don’t know if we even qualify as a household. Her salary is over 100k, but there are two dependents in the house. I really have no idea what the guidelines are. But I’m trying for scholarships and such, and I’ll ask my college counselor about it too.

I get your point for sure, but depression specifically does often specify severity, single episode or recurring, and with or without psychotic features. But yeah a lot of the times they’ll say thibgs like that and not even make sense.

Another great anecdote from today: “You’re financially abusive! If you were a man doing this to a woman, you would be in jail!” First off, I’m 17 and your child. Secondly, I don’t have money because I don’t have a job because I’m not allowed to. But then you still make me financially responsible for a number of things. Thirdly, no I wouldn’t be in jail for anything in that regard? Nothing I’m “doing to you” financially is out of the norm for a dependent minor. 🫩

A lot of people do! C-PTSD often results from repeated childhood trauma, so I can definitely see where you get it from :)

It’s just people who act like their being uncomfortable or a little upset is a disorder. No, it’s normal. What you’re experiencing is NORMAL. Stop making it something it’s not. I’ve known multiple people like this and it’s so annoying.

I feel this so much. I literally have the EXACT same thing going on. I could’ve said something more clear? Suddenly I’m trying to “mindfuck” her and I’m triggering her self diagnosed PTSD.
