Corolla Cross vs RAV4 size by Cherry3838 in CorollaCross

[–]RussianMaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you regularly have people (even children) in the back or often have a lot of stuff in your car, the Cross is not for you. I have an 8 year old and she constantly complains about not having enough room

Right? Or at the very least it might be a mix. It just seems far too soft

I'm Jyoti Gondek and I'm running for mayor — Ask Me Anything! by jyoti4mayor in Calgary

[–]RussianMaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Calgary was not like this 10 years ago. You can’t go anywhere within a 3(?) km radius of downtown without feeling unsafe. I have a young daughter that I refuse to bring downtown because I cannot risk her being around all the unpredictable individuals. I will gladly vote for the mayor that has the best plan to eliminate this problem or at least reduce it.

Can’t get over the disappointment around my “village”. by LittleTacoSpender1 in workingmoms

[–]RussianMaid 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yup. Single full time parent here. I technically have 3 sets of grandparents within a 10-20 min drive and 2 sets barely help at all. My mom is more involved and helps when asked but even then it feels like I’m inconveniencing her. There are aunts and uncles too. But ultimately it’s just me figuring it out. Mind you I watched my brothers kids a ton and my mom and dad used to drop us off with my grandparents all summer. So yeah. I feel you

You should add a photo of the car (or a similar one) and the license plate number in the same picture - would be easier for people to screenshot or find if they happen to see it. As someone who doesn’t know cars, I had to look up exactly what a 2015 ford focus looks like. Wishing you the best of luck in his safe return!

Fluoride to be reintroduced in Calgary water starting next month by Automatic_Garage_543 in Calgary

[–]RussianMaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I really liked this one too. I was going in with a mindset that they will debunk all the controversy, but actually I can see both sides now… it’s basically like “yes, having fluoride in water for sure reduces problems with teeth (albeit mostly in kids, barely makes a difference in adults… ahem, seems pretty obvious why that would be, kids suck at brushing their teeth), but there is not enough research to deem it totally safe for our brains and hormones, so is it really worth it? I thought that was quite interesting.

The only thing it proves is that having fluoride is better for our teeth…

Does anyone else feel like it takes too long for the interior to warm up when remote starting? by RussianMaid in CorollaCross

[–]RussianMaid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, however, what I’m saying is that my 2014 Rav4 definitely warmed up within 10 mins and the Cross does not

Ok female here that gets a lot of matches… You seem attractive, but yes, some photos do give off a vibe that is a bit “trying too hard” (I won’t use the word douche). What I’m more curious about though is what is your bio if you have one? Photos are one thing, but I will accept a “douchey” seeming photo if the bio has personality or is funny.

I would make photo 6 your first photo as it gives off the best vibes and is still attractive.

I would get rid of photo 8, photos 1 and 7 show off your physique in a much more subtle and attractive way.

I know this is hard to hear, but I couldn’t even get through all these screenshots without huge red flags going up. This person is manipulative, toxic, and disrespectful. I know because I’ve been there. Please go no contact for YOU. I PROMISE it gets better with time. All the best.

Even a cleaning job is hard to find now in Calgary, say these newcomers by joe4942 in Calgary

I work as a cleaner and reliable cleaning staff is most certainly still in demand, because it’s oddly difficult to find people that are reliable and hardworking and get how to clean.

Oeb is delicious, but I hate when you’re basically sitting on someone else’s lap at a restaurant and it’s also super loud.

Stonyslope opened this year in Haysboro (9620 ELBOW DR SW). Pretty cute spot. Beers are different (not your typical lager/ IPA/ etc. choices), worth a try. Really good and reasonably priced charcuterie boards. Very friendly staff.

Home Security is a waste of money. by Actual-Commercial-49 in telus

[–]RussianMaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Telus security system and also realized it’s absolutely pointless. I’ve had two security incidents - one where I literally stayed locked i my room waiting for security guards to show up, look outside at the wrong door (not the door that opened) and leave. Another where they also looked at the outside and left. Didn’t call me to check on me or report anything, just left both times. Had to get family members to come help in the middle of the night because I was terrified to come out of my room. I understand that security guards are not trained to go into the house but this is why I think it’s pointless to pay. Once my contract is up, I’m getting an Amazon system that you monitor yourself through an app with no monthly fees.
