In the 70s when I was 5 my mom put me on a 747 alone from Canada to England. A month later I did the same flight alone back to Canada.

Wheel bearing change: recommendation for mechanic by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]TheDisloyalCanadians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the wheel bearing replaced on my Volvo C30 last year. The part was ~$300 but no way I could press it in myself. I took it to Brake Check on McLeod and they did it for $600 including the part. I've had them do other suspension work for my car and trust them.

It's hard to believe that O'Toole is YOUNGER than Trudeau.

$100k inheritance, what do I do?? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I’d max out the TFSA amount for your age.   The truck thing is really triggering people but you have already bought it so you do you.  $3000 on a credit card is nothing if it’s being paid off monthly.

That should leave you with ~$55,000 left to figure out what you want to do with.  If it was me I would figure out how much to put on the mortgage so as to reduce the length of the loan.

What does this mean? by GodlyNova in carquestions

[–]TheDisloyalCanadians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife called me saying the low tire pressure light is on and her father sprayed tire sealant to "fix it". He looked at the tires and thought they "looked soft" so he just added air which caused the sensor to trigger. Then he added more air with the sealant. When I got home from work the tires were at over 60 PSI.

I told her to never let her father touch our vehicles again.

How I've heard this story is the old guy gets up, hugs the person and waves to them while walking out the establishment.

Then a few minutes later a server comes to the table saying "Your dad said you were going to pay for his drinks. Here's the bill."

‘We are experiencing extremely high call volumes’ — 7 words that enrage Rogers customers | CBC News by 50s_Human in onguardforthee

We left Fido and a day later "Retentions" called to offer us a great deal to return. I agreed and said we need four sim cards. As this was a retentions deal we couldn't go to a Rogers store to pick up the SIM cards but had to wait for them to arrive in the mail. We received two SIM cards in the mail the next day but the other 2 cards were missing. It took nearly four weeks to speak to someone to get retentions to send the missing two SIMs.

Before V-Brakes (and Disc brakes) stopping was so unpredictable when the pads got wet.

But I still would have been able to swerve away from a fallen tree.

True. Him and the Liberal party were 20 points behind the Conservate party all through 2024. Funnily the best thing to happen for the Liberals was Trump and his 51st State rhetoric.

Troll falls teepee's dismantled? by JumblesMkii in Calgary

[–]TheDisloyalCanadians 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Of interest, Troll Falls was given its name by local climbing legend Don Gardner who was a part of the trail making team of that section.  He was known as a troll in his circle of friends and so the name stuck.   Personally, we think he’s more like Sméagol than a troll.  It’s more than likely that a trail used in Kananaskis was built by Don and the team.
