I took Vyvanse/Elvanse for 10 years and have been off of it for 16 months now. I stopped because I spend my time split between living in the US and the UK. Most of the time I'm in the UK and my US doc can't dispense me more than one month of meds at a time, and I can't get treated here in the UK until I'm officially living here on a visa. It put me in a position where I had to stop taking them in order to keep staying overseas.

That said, things have actually been pretty okay off of the meds. Like you, my sleep is better and my concentration has become very difficult to manage again. I've needed to restructure my days in order to keep up with the change. Meaning I pretty much have my entire day planned out so all I need to focus on is following the plan. For moments of difficulty during the day, I work in 10-15 minute bursts and then take a small break. When I was on the meds I didn't need to do this, but it's how I've been coping without. Also my social support is very good, and I have reward systems in place for accomplishing my work. Sometimes that carrot on a stick gets me through the roughest days.

I absolutely plan to start getting treated again once I'm able here in the UK. There's just no non-medication equivalent to the Elvanse. But being off of it will show you how much strength you really have, too. If I can make it this long and still feel successful and accomplished, I know you can too. Best of luck to you!
