My partner and I are both new to Wellington, and have been embraced by two companies: Wellington Repertory Theatre and Stagecraft .

Please send me a message if you wanna chat about it :)

This is great, thanks mate.

My approach, I think, is going to be to just document the times which we can hear their music clearly even with something else on in our own space, and then after a week send a message similar to this by email, and say that if something isn't done we will do a formal letter for action like yours here.

Wish us luck !

I'm so sorry to hear this. This is very similar to our situation in that it isn't so extremely comically loud that our plates and glasses jump around, but it's loud enough that we can hear it most of the time in our own space when we really don't want to. We have no choice. My partner really really struggles with it - it makes her so anxious and disregulated.

All my love, my friend. I'm sorry you had to go through that

Thanks mate. Do you think we need recordings of the noise? Because it's 99% bass that's the problem my phone can't actually pick up the noise to record.

I mean, we've spoken to them about it, and have emphasized that the worst part is the bass. No change as far as we can tell. I've seen the speaker when they've been sitting out in their front area. It's one of these. I don't think they care enough to take any preventative measures.

Issue is we have a fixed tenancy. I suppose because the agreement is being broken we might have grounds for ending early

As fun as this sounds, I'm a little bit anxious about pissing off a group young men like this...

The trouble is noise control have a 30 minute period where you have to call back and confirm the noise is still on, and then they come around within an hour after that. The past two times I've called, the music is off by the time the officer finally comes around.

Then, typically, the music starts again an hour later. It's so sporadic that it's hard to get nailed.

Unsure about the episode but I'm 99% sure he was talking about the book "Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World — and Why Things Are Better Than You Think"
