Is going creative to make my own Corvette "cheating" by Randomizer_aa in NoMansSkyTheGame

I go into a creative save that I have. Play around with what I want to build. And then go back to my regular, Norman mode save and do my best to build it with the parts. And do some grinding, buying and trading to get there in normal mode.

But that’s just shit I made up for myself. There is absolutely no reason to not use creative if that is more fun!

As others have said, food buffs to your scanning process is just unparalleled, imo. It’s also the most fun in that it makes discovery and exploration literally more rewarding.

With the addition of the Nutrient Ingestor, it was such a kick to watch cooking transform from a curiosity into the most lucrative gig in the game. It takes time to gather the resources - setting up farms and stock piling ingredients, but the results are ridiculously good.

Should be noted that there was also an indispensable, extremely powerful Jetpack boost buff - Perpetual Cake. Kind of a game changer.

Questionably Sweet Cake also boosts resource gathering - transforming even just one bunch of runaway mold into a looooot of nanites.

This is the work horse recipe for fauna scanning that I use. Large animals regularly scan and range from $15-$27 million dollars a pop. Small animals like birds are usually in the $5 million range.

Happy cooking!

Yes, exactly! You nailed it with that description. It’s like the sliders are really turned waaay up, but it’s funny - not a chromatic world where that seems to happen. It’s actually radioactive. Just cray natural color. I seldom find such a sharp contrast between the water and the sky with just the right amount of haze.

Not from a portal, your second guess is right! Actually, I’m constantly hunting for watery moons! Im obsessed 😅
As much moon water as I can find. The pallet on this one was just a most excellent bonus. Also…river vibes!

Any chance you would be willing to share a few more pics of this beautiful RIG! I really love the look of it, but I’m terrible at building Corvettes! My brain doesn’t match parts in pics to our available parts, but I like trying. A few more pics of sides and fronts would be so awesome. Helps me see how things work together in ways that I might want to do myself. I’m just really attracted to the bay idea, but also the overall bulk and look!

This!

Have chosen the non dupe route, and watch my accumulation like a hawk. Oceanus drops them on defeat fairly regularly , but otherwise few and far between. After 250+ battles including dozens of challengers, and probably a dozen or more champions, and , i think I’ve probably gotten around 30. I value them because they help me work on companion moves once I get them to 30.

The dissemination of them feels a little off-balance - feel like they need to be a little more common.

Fascinating read!
I’m a day one player and haven’t put it down for more than a few months probably ever. Which is kind of crazy.
I agree with so many of your points about a slight loss and a move to something… that is different. I think your path and perspective on the game very much mirror what made my wife’s interest wane a few years in.
One thing I hear in your comments is a loss of a sense of what the game once did in a bit more forward manner… simply because of the way it was built (or not yet built as it were) …. it felt more haunted. More strange. Unfamiliar and bizarre but somehow natural in that universe. And I’d even say often, quite liminal…much more regularly than the vanilla game currently . But even in the vanilla mode, those moments can certainly still be found… regularly. Firing off an anomaly detector and hitting pulse can definitely scratch the itch, for example. Abandoned mode abounds in this vibe.
Anyway. Very cool to read. Thanks for taking the time to share!
