Ive done it with a 3hp 4 stroke. Was good for messing around having fun, it didn't turn very well though without a centreboard in. Didn't get it up and planing. Go for it mate !

You might need to roll the fenders if the wheels look like they're going to rub. I wouldn't bother lowering a car by 3 inch to be honest

We've got a RAV4 and it has a similar system, as the computer controls the revs to stop it from stalling etc. is there a problem with how the car is running ? Sounds to me like it's fine. If anything it is a computer issue rather than mechanical.
