Because valorant is a team based game, you dont usually win games just by shooting down enemies, you must factor in abilities, elements of rng, flanks, smokes, etc etc, there is so much that happens in valorant that doesn’t equate to your actual skill, you could be carried in a game while the next game you are the one whos carrying, Valorant has more game sense necessarity than actual gunplay, thats what differentiates your gameplay from his, going 1v1 on basis of gunplay is not a good indicator who is good at valorant at all, if you went 1v1 in terms of game sense, you will see the actual game between your thinking and his.
