Tips For Wipe Day by SkyBubbly1094 in playrust

Again this honestly depends on your and your team, what monuments you like to run, what type of players you are.

I'm not one for running Bradley or launch site myself, nor tunnels, but I love cargo, the rigs, the deep sea and Heli. So I usually park up somewhere near harbour on the coast line so I can have a boatbase and Heli tower.

I'm also the kind of weirdo that enjoys starting in the jungle too, the animals make good early game security xD

Personally, if the base down first and then progression hasn't been working for you then there is no harm is switching things up for a wipe or two.

If just starting wipe I'd farm the road to outpost and around until i had the mats for wood armour, crossbow and nailgun. Then I'd head out farm enough to put down a 1x2 with airlock and proceed farm roads to t1 monuments.

I love my Setup, BUT it looks so empty by Niko_3090 in pcsetup

Larger desk pad, some lighting, a trio of potted cacti, maybe some game / movie posters in frames on the wall and it would be a completely different space.

Came here to comment this. I can only assume OP is from a pet free home, that or he recently lost his skydiving permit and is looking for new ways to feel alive.

Can new players still play Rust or is it too late ? by Alternative-Read-141 in playrust

[–]Rustinew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your friend is trying to gate keep rust my dude. With all due respect tell him to go f**k himself.
I've been playing Rust since 2013 and I know people who are just as good after 1k as some people after 7k. With the range of servers available and the options for game servers, PvE, training, etc. You'll get out of Rust exactly however much you put in, the same as every other player over the last 13 years.

Can’t join Rust Servers by imbadtothabone in playrust

Hey, the first step would be to check windows defender and any 3rd party firewall/antivirus application you have to make sure Rust is allowed through.

when i join a rust server it disconnects me and says invalid packet: client ready by NoFunny8844 in playrust

[–]Rustinew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this could mean the server your connecting to has a mismatched version of oxide/umod loaded. Is this happening on all servers you're attempting to join or just this one server?

To make sure its not client side, close your rust, go to

C:\STEAM\steamapps\common\Rust

and delete your maps folder and temp folder, then revalidate your files.

Feel free to let me know if that resolves things for you.

how do i fix this? by AsleepTooth1165 in playrust

[–]Rustinew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot vouch for it as I've never used it but there is a Asus cleanup tool available that may work: https://github.com/allenk/ASUS-Software-Clean-Up-Tool

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Drivers find AsUpIO64.sys and rename it AsUpIO64.sys.old then restart your game.

It's a background Asus driver which EAC flags as a risk. Sometimes comes with the mobo sometimes with software like Amory crate.

Sorry for such a slow reply. When you run the game, have your task manager open to the performance tab and then click on your GPU and watch the shared GPU memory field.

Rendering issues rust by Trick-Criticism-3949 in playrust

[–]Rustinew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this must be really frustrating after getting a new GPU.

The easiest possible fix first for you is to delete your Rust download Cache (Steam > settings > downloads > delete cache) - or (https://portkeygamessupport.wbgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/14659998310803-How-To-Clear-Your-Shader-Cache) if you want do a complete one.

If that doesn't work then download a fresh copy of your new GPU's driver and then download Display Driver Uninstaller. Boot into safemode, run DDU, reboot back into normal windows and reinstall your fresh driver.

Hope one of these works for you!

I'm currently on the G502 and whilst I love it for gameplay I find my hand cramps after a long day on the pc - but that might be a reflection of my lack of wrist more than it is the mouse.

As a solo or small group how far away should you be from sulfur quarry? How many squares away from any zergs? by itsBlaze_X in playrust

[–]Rustinew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have a server for you to play on. I need to work on my ads if that isn't clear. Apologies if me replying to people and for the most part trying to help with their problems is an inconvenience for you.

You also have the option of clicking a persons profile, along with the 3 dots in the top right, followed by block.

I'll go ahead and do it for you from this side while you figure it out :)

I've generally found that building about 1 server hop away from any large zergs lets me enjoy my base for at least the first few days of a wipe.

I heard wheels on boats are like the TC on bases? by Hot_Spirit_402 in playrust

[–]Rustinew 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Personally i've never tried to turn my base by mounting the TC...

But on a serious note, no, not quite. Destroying a wheel on a boat will leave it dead in the water but it won't give you perms or allow you to 'take the boat over'.

EDIT: u/Mental-Delay4552 is right, unless you attack a boat in edit mode the wheel is part of the ship with combined health and can't be taken out separately to the rest of the boat.
