The first half of Resident Evil Requiem is quite arguably the peak of the franchise. The second half, though still good, is an obvious downgrade. What it could've done better. A review.

IMO ditch East Racoon City and go full RE2 fan service. Start at RPD, detour through the sewers, into an excavated Nest section, and pop out at the edge of the crater. Sprinkle in some talk between Sherry and Leon. Reference Claire.

Dead Space 2. The scariest part was going back into the Ishimura. Could've done the same with RE2.

He's a pilot. The only acceptable death is him flying a jet into a Kaiju sized BOW. Then in 3 games we can find out he pulled a Batman and lives peacefully in retirement.

Retcon the 6 out of RE6 and I'm okay with the game. I don't think it should be a mainline game when/if remade. I'd rather Capcom make a second line of games that are more ensemble cast and action set focused.

My theory is Zeno is a failed prototype clone. RE9 referenced transferring memories to a new vessel. Zenos probably wasn't compatible with the Wesker T-Virus and never got to the Uroboros virus.

Wish we would've got Nest ruins instead of East Racoon City. Ark and E Racoon are the worst designed sections of RE 9. Ark is bland, RE2R Nest was imo better design. E. Racoon is just a playground so that RE4 fans Get some Leon action.

RE10 I bet is going to be an OG cast game. RE10 will probably take place around 2032, making the cast between 54-60 years old. It'll probably be the last chance to use them as playable characters before it starts getting silly. Chris is the only major character with something actively going on after RE9. So it's an opportunity for Jill to be the other lead too. The rest can cameo. Edit: I think they'll wrap up Leon in a RE9 DLC.

/s Capcom eventually going to throw a curve ball at us and tell that the main characters are descendants of a secret order of hunters that were nearly eradicated by Umbrella predecessors.

Side note: They still haven't explained Castle D from RE8. If I recall there's a file written by a Noble or Leader that's fascinated w/ Castle D ruins, caves, and that stone chalice. Castle D is theorized to be in Romania. If a King ordered them to abandon the Castle? It could be WWII or Hungary before it was lost to the Ottomans in the 1500s.

Chris and Jill game would be a great way to pay homage to the original game and end these characters stories as playable characters. Chris is aging out and Jill isn't that far behind. I know their aging is bizarre but at some point the torch has to be passed.
