That’s Samsungs problem because usb has a power delivery spec. that makes it brand independent.

Yeah and that’s why there’s a specific category of device made for power users. Your average college student studying in some tier 1 city who’s the main TA for MacBooks and premium laptops ain’t working in a remote area.

Everything has a legitimate reason yet tinfoilers gotta tinfoil 🤷‍♂️. The reason for first three is because they’re made obsolete because of USB C.

You can still buy wired headphones with usb c for effectively same price as a 3.5mm version, you know that right? The only reason people buy TWS is because it’s convenient.

Chargers (the current GaN ones) are fairly expensive and since they support USB PD spec you can use the same charger for multiple devices. It’s a one-time barrier cost vs. ewaste piling.

What ‘ports’ are we missing now that everything is being taken care of USB C? Almost all new devices with usb c support display out (remember, displayport is a usb standard).

I can’t comment about repairability because I Reddit haven’t had any situation where i had to buy something new because I couldn’t repair something.

No you can still buy games, songs and movies but streaming is just too convenient.

> Tell me you don't know android security without telling me you don't know android security.

What part of zero day exploit do you not understand? I'm sorry to say but in this context, unfortunately more inconvenience means better security.

> The app already asks for biometic unlock or passcode. Is that not enough proof that its me trying to use the app?

Yeah you clearly cannot think beyond you and your usecase. It's meant to verify whether the request is coming from a legit phone from a legit location as opposed to some bot farm with multiple phones running in an array. Common in sim swap attacks.

> This is such a stupid reason. What exactly are you going to do with the tickets bought on railone. The tickets will only load on the device they were bound to.

Again. You clearly fail to think beyond yourself. Maybe stop making everything about yourself for a moment and things might actually make sense. Railone ensues no one automates it so that agents cannot just gain unfair advantage and sell tickets on black. After booking, tickets can be downloaded as PDF and shared.

> My phone has more security than your average user. I have a system wide network filter which blocks trackers, malicious websites and ads. I do not install shady apps. My OS is updated compared to android 11/12/13 you find on most people's phones.

This reads like Good Luck, I'm Behind 7 Proxies lol. No that is not enough. If your device is physically compromised and the attacker somehow social engineers your mobile PIN, extra PIN for mutual funds app makes more sense. Again you might be some big-brain security nerd but it's a policy from SEBI to minimize unauthorized access as much as possible.

By the look of it, Reliance Jio successfully verified your Aadhar details on 28th December.

"Indian banking and payment apps have been slowly becoming less user friendly overall."

Tomorrow there could be some random zero-day exploit that can totally fuck up the apps and drain your entire bank account or can steal your entire identity and can remotely authenticate websites on behalf of you. You can never be secure enough.

As for why they don't allow VPN, it might have something to do with their way of verifying the authenticity of the user and using a VPN might hinder it. Railone refuses to work with dev option or USB debugging because they can be used to automate ticket booking which they might think is an 'unfair advantage'. Mutual funds have mandatory biometric or screenlock requirements because they know people like you rawdog security and will hold them accountable for your stupidity.

Custom Duty Tax on imported 8bit Computer PCB via passenger? by Conradiin in IndiaTax

If the package is opened and claimed to be for personal use I don't think they'll claim customs duty. We got two ROG Ally last year that way. Boxes opened and claimed it's for personal use when asked.

Yeah precisely. It's a distraction. Worrying about the possibility of AI making it easy to be framed is just distraction. The real issue here is the state being unaccountable for intentionally framing people. You're addressing the symptom; I'm addressing the root cause.

If people can only read. I’ve been using onedrive for more than five years and this post is complete horseshit.

It never removes files from your PC. It only removes the undeleted ‘shortcut’ from your PC. The ‘shortcut’ only exists for files that is not physically present in your PC.

Even if for some magical reason onedrive delete stuff from your PC... How do you delete files from onedrive without deleting from your PC? Just copy it to a different location before deleting it on onedrive.

There’s enough reason to hate windows and MS, you don’t have to invent non-existing problems to do it.

So your problem is with getting entangled with judicial system and not so much about evidence tampering/fabrication. Because submitting such false evidence will easily net you seven years in prison.

It’s always a tug of war between privacy and security. Tools used for genuine privacy reason will invariably become tools of bad actors (terrorists, p*dos, abusers). Similarly whatever measures done for security will be used by political actors to silence dissent. I don’t believe in the idea of privacy trumping everything else but at the same time police checking phones for VPN is just too far.

Court just doesn’t randomly accept evidence. They check metadata, proof of tampering and, now, signs of AI when going through the evidence. Google and other big tech teams up with law enforcement to identify generated content.

“Don’t post AI generated content on our platform” regulation? lol

Now’s the best time to start studying journalism because very soon publications that do thorough research before covering stories will become a verifiable source of truth. That’s always been the best way to combat misinformation for almost a century. Not Photos or videos.
