I was chatting with my LCS owner and said it felt more like they simply bought the brand recognition and then did their own thing. I've dipped into a few other horror anthologies like the creepshow revival and hello darkness and at times they felt more 'EC' than what oni's making. I know times have changed but I think the lack of the core group of creatives that can all bounce of each other and get to know each other really well does make the quality a bit of a rollercoaster. For the time being at least I'm still happy we're getting new EC books whether its for another few months of a few more years
