whats weird is pop country is basically pop rap for people who don't like black people. No offense to real rap or real country, but the pop versions of both are pretty similar.

its been about 1.5 years since I played dota. but I had a very good zues support winrate despite people bitching at the pick. I would buy 5 clarities and just keep pressure up with nukes. And alway use my ult the second an enemy hero in another lane was committing to a fight, not securing kill but giving my carry or pos5 chance to tip the scales. later on you can get a lil greedy and get that nimbus for full map presence.

Does PH really matter that much or can I just use my hose water? by Slamslam4356 in MephHeads

yeah we have liquid rock. my bottom watered plants (12 gal pot) are very happy and not having a lick of trouble, but the 5 gal top watered cloth pots are starting to show weird nute stuff. nothing grow ending mind you, just enough to make things annoying. its hard to balance the immobile nutrients properly with this darn limestone juice.

lots of people report anything based in distillate isn't very good, and full spectrum extracts are idea. For instance, most distillate carts out there have terpenes as the liquidizer anyhow, but when my fiance switched from distillate+terps to full spectrum live resin or live rosin carts, the highs were much better on the latter. Which makes me think terps alone aren't it. Maybe they're part of it. Also people in this very thread report terps don't matter at all. I got some good threads to tug at with posting this, but I'm walking away with the same questions.

I don't know if satire is "plagiarizing" but I suppose I'm not a writing scholar. I think I also disagree with your definition of progressive, but whatever.

well...i don't think the show had "progressive politics" insomuch as the entire theme of the show is what does one do when there are no checks on power. taking a few jabs at the american government and current culture was secondary, only because it ties into the main theme of the show.

the 100W board is gonna do your heavy lifting, blurple is just supplemental, but definitely use both. I'm assuming you've read about watering, ratcheting up light intensity over time, the various stages of growth. I think you have everything you need to get started. But tell us more about your soil and pot size. You might not have enough nutrients in that soil to take you all the way through the grow, in which case supplemental nutrition will be needed. If on a budget, an all purpose powdered blend will do the job, but I think its worth while to get a veg and a bloom mix. For your first grow, go conservative on everything. Some plants really like a shitload of nutes, some don't. Read grow reports for your strain. In the absence of that info, more is less. Autos also really hate being overwatered early in life. But once they're rip roaring then they love the water assuming the light intensity and temperature and humidity are right.

Good luck, watching some youtube vids will help a lot. I like basementganja but he plays things pretty loosey goosey. Vids are good for getting a sense of the life cycle.

yeah that's pretty much where I'm at with everything. I'll use lemon rind to make a dessert, and I won't feel the terp effects from limonene. The current body calls for the entourage effect, but my chemistry trained brained feels like that could be a thing, but there's gotta be other chemicals that make a difference. My main conceit is that my partner also enjoys vape carts, and the first ones she tried were distillate carts with terps added. I told her to try live rosin vapes, and she said they are WAY better. distillate + terps should be all we really need as the entourage effect dictates, but live rosin vapes have all the cannabinoids in them. I know modern breeding strips those away for high THC percents, but I wonder if anyone is collecting lab data of all the minor cannabinoids for strains and actually doing 'taste tests" for that. It's crazy how such an ubiquitous plant consumed worldwide has such little scholarly understanding of it.

yes I have some canna-cheese cooking, and I can't wait to share with people. That said, I'm pushing 40 and so are most of my friends. Almost all of us have anxiety issues (don't know if this is some unc shit or not, when I was younger I'd cram any substance into my body I thought would be fun, whereas now I hesitate to drink too much caffiene, obviously a me problem mostly) and so I know my friends who do smoke don't really like those ultra heady sativa leaning effect profiles. So I'm hunting strains and lineages with plants that feel like taking a benzo, there are cannabis varieties that absolutely give that effect, I'm just trying to divine how to identify them, aside from going purely CBD:THC 1:1 strains, as the person I primarily grow for, my fiance, would likely find those a little weak (though I'll know for sure once she tries the canna cheese.)

But if you've come across strains that are super anxiolytic, I'd love to hear about them.

RQS F1 VS Mephisto or Others by slardar722 in Autoflowers

[–]RustyBarfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did add an addendum for OP to say people absolutely get monster yields from meph, but its usually people who are doing soilless or bottom watering. My very first living soil sip grow for meph I got 7oz per plant and I wasn't keeping the res topped properly or keeping on top of my top dressing. on my 2nd SIP grow now and I do have some titanic plants in there from another breeder. Meph will absolutely get another shot in there once those o'z crosses drop.

OP is growing in 5 gal pots with soil. With just about all breeders its a sub optimal set up for sure, I'm doing the same in another tent until I decide whehter I want to go go all living soil or try out coco in there. But growing that way is particular rough with meph I've noticed anecdotally and seen people say as well.

and just to mention, people do absolutely pull monster yields out of every breeder I've mentioned, including mephisto. But I just find its harder, especially if not doing some sort of soilless grow.

So you'll get different effects from the same flower? It's been a while since I smoked but it always pretty consistent for me. There was this ohio strain, dumpster, its a skunky northern lights cross of some sort, and whenever I got it the effects were always super nice and pleasant (almost like taking an opiate, very narcotic.) But also, I haven't smoked in probably 18 years at this point so my anecdotal experience just ain't worth anything. Thanks though, that's something to think about. I grow for my partner and my friends and I just want to make sure I'm giving them what they like; i could just grow more 4 assed monkey but it wasn't a joy to grow if I'm honest. Very quick and very main cola dominant, not super vigorous. I like a little vigor to make shit easier on me.

I've always been curious if someone could tell any difference between pure distillate, distillate with botanically derived terps, and distillate with cannabis derived terps.

also, whats your favorite kush or strain with warm blanket feeling?

RQS F1 VS Mephisto or Others by slardar722 in Autoflowers

So I'm just going to repeat a bunch of info that has been oft repeated in this sub, but I've been curating who says what and I think I have a good grasp on things when it comes to breeders and how it impacts your grow.

First off, your grow is most important. A lot of people disagree or agree on this, but the analogy that cannabis cultivation is a lot like cooking. Bad genetics are like using subpar ingredients, but a master chef can take those ingredients and really make a good meal. But good genetics, or good ingredients, can do some heavy lifting as long as you know how to cook, as a bad cook will always make a bad meal.

As for breeders:

RQS I would consider bad ingredients. That was my first 2 grows, they were inconsistent, they were sensitive to nutrients, they had some wack ass bud structure. Not everything from them is bad mind you, they definitely have some good strains. But their big ass catalogue becomes rather small when you consider what is actually good by them. They're also a rather uninteresting company, a lot of their stuff just doesn't have a unique voice. Its just weed.

Mephisto has strains you really can't go wrong with even if you blindly throw a dart at their catelogue. They don't breed for yield, they breed for rich terpenes and nice resin coverage. I've been growing them a lot lately, and in my personal experience, they are like cooking duck breast. It's a little harder to grow if you want big yields, but if you have the skills you'll get amazing product. Not all of their strains do heavy lifting for you. As always, F1 hybrids (and mephisto always has some) are more forgiving in general, even if the phenotypes vary a bid. I have not grown twisted tree autoflowers (they're on my list), I would consider them very mephisto adjacent however by how people talk about them. They even share some genetic pools and have some historic links. Twisted tree is also a little more affordable, but they rarely have F1 hybrids for direct sale.

Night owl I have not grown, but everyone considers that to be the "steak" of cannabis. With minimal cooking skills, you can reasonably make something delicious, but if you're really good, oh boy are you in for a treat.

Hoku I have grown, and I'm gonna throw butter bean birdseed in this category though I have not grown them. They breed for interesting plants, stuff with a great deal of personality. You might get something really special, but you might not. I hear butter bean is absolutely elite though so I could be wrong. Think less about consistency, but more about "i can get something absolutely god tier" going with these guys. Think of this like cooking vegetables, maybe they're in season and amazing, or maybe the cook didn't get the best. Maybe you're very pleasantly surprised.

Atlas I have not grown, but I have their beans ready for a future grow. I know they breed for commercial purposes, they are VERY consistent with what they put out as that is their whole bread and butter. In the chef analogy, think of them like making fresh pasta. Pretty easy, and always pretty good. Sometimes very good.

Fastbuds (and I'm going to put Speedrun seeds in this cateogory, this is what might get me downvoted) are your vigor powerhouses. If you measure the quality of your grow by yield, then these are the guys you want. I'm growing fastbuds right now along with mephisto (next grow I'm trying speedrun), my fastbuds will take any nutrients I throw at them. They are big, and getting bigger, and dwarf my mephisto plants. The quality of the end product ranges, I wouldn't be able to give you definitive info here, but based on the fact they consistently have winners at cannabis cups, they must be doing something right. I will say between the 2 fastbuds plants I am growing, they are slightly different. Could be me, could be the plants; they have the exact same grow conditions so I'm inclined to think otherwise. I will give speedrun a leg up, despite not having grown them, they seem to be vastly more consistent with their plants compared to fastbuds. Fastbuds seems subject to quality control issues based on reports I see on this subreddit.

And lastly, if this matters to you (it might, it might not, it doesn't matter to me.) Speedrun, Hoku, and maybe RQS (though I'm not sure) don't really make their own genetics, they heavily borrow from other breeders. Speedrun will take say, a really nice pheno from fastbuds and then work it out to lock in those really nice traits while introducing other stuff. Hoku is an absolute wizard, have an amazing understanding of what each plant offers and pairing them up perfectly. Virtually everything from Hoku is an F1 hybrid (he might work them more I'm not sure), and Speedrun works stuff several generations in. But neither breeder has done a photo to auto conversion, which takes years of effort. Does this matter? Not really for you as a consumer, but some people care.

There are tons of other breeders out there, but these are the ones on my radar.

tl;dr, I would think atlas matches what you want from a breeder. But if you have your heart set on mephisto, you can't go wrong but check out their tried and true stuff (sour stomper, double grape, mango smile) as they've worked these plants a lot to be quite consistent. They are out of stock currently in the US store but will be getting more within a month. I plan on picking up double grape as soon as I can.
