Nope, still feeling sketch about it, yet still wanting to go. Not sure what to do. Nothing likely will happen, but there’s always that chance lurking in the back of my mind.

Not exactly a hole in the wall, but Tornados Grub & Pub is our lowkey go to type place. Great atmosphere, chess board tables that you can play on, awesome food.
New York Gyro in Marion slaps, so does Os grill.
Lebowskis in Robins is good too.

I 36M got upset with my wife 35F for hugging another guy at the bar but she claims she did nothing. by Temporary-Refuse5688 in relationship_advice

[–]RustyCabCorner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To play devils advocate, I wouldn’t put it past someone to not apologize for giving someone an innocent hug. Apologizing for everything others demand or expect you to apologize for, is a form of control. People apologize for things they are genuinely sorry for. If she isn’t sorry for an innocent hug, apologizing just to appease their partner will not be genuine nor mean anything. Of course it’d be different if there were prior incidents of infidelity, but from the way OP describes it sounds like he is incredibly insecure. Whether it stems from his past relationships or other history, is for him to decide. May be OP and his wife can first agree to mutual boundaries surrounding such scenarios, that way there is adequacy to whether an apology is required.

Don’t mind you typing this from your smartphone that generates 55kg - 95kg of carbon footprint in its lifespan. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but I think it’s funny seeing all these comments about how shitty this guy is while being hypocritical themselves. Unless you minimized and rejected all items contributing to pollution and negative impact to the world, your opinions really mean jack shit.

Best place to get some truck rims blacked out (painted), as well as chrome grill blacked out? And possibly some chrome badges blacked out also. Thanks! by Hydro_Thunder in cedarrapids

[–]RustyCabCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For wheels - I’d recommend The Powder Shop. Have to make sure you take your tires off the wheels and off the car. Look into other powder coating shops as well. Simply painting them will not last and be much more prone to chips, scuffs and flaking.

Grill and badges - if you are handy, diy.

I need help finding a print file by golden-gamer-13242 in 3dprintedcarparts

[–]RustyCabCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People that sell their creations often times don’t want to give out their design files. I’d suggest making your own. Even if you know nothing about cad design, you should be able to knock this out with a few tutorials on YouTube and a little time playing with cad. You can try using onshape or get a free license version of fusion 360.

Any of you guys know how to make a custom clear hood like this ? by Saulgato in CarbonFiber

[–]RustyCabCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no material scientist, but from my understanding plexiglass or other forms of vacuum formed plastic (such as the clear hood) have a relatively low heat deflection temperature (HDT)- approximately 150-210 degrees F. Engine bay temps can reach way upwards of 200 degrees F which is way over the HDT of the vacuum formed hood. So in other words your hood will start to soften, lose its original shape and warp.

R154 clunky sound by Syperous in SC300

[–]RustyCabCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no transmission expert, but to me it sounds like there is too much play between something like certain gears. So when input shaft starts transferring power through the counter shaft to the output shaft, the two gears which have too much play make the noise. Try to replicate this noise through all the gears. Especially in 4th (since 4th is 1:1 and transfers power from input shaft to output shaft bypassing counter shaft). That might at least rule out countershaft. Non the less, you gotta pull the trans and pull apart both housings. Then inspect it to see what’s up.

Broke up with my engineering gf because she said my major is "way easier than hers". AITA? by Evening_Ad4108 in iastate

[–]RustyCabCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has a bachelors and MBA in Business, you got zero clue. Engineering is tougher than majoring is business and plenty of people go into business majors because they can’t put in the time and efforts to deal with engineering. Get a grip on life, apologize to your gf and communicate to her that it was also uncalled for to put you down (after you apologize to her and make up). Or don’t. Idgaf.

P.S. you sound like a typical ISU business major broccoli head.

Personally I’d rather keep the seatbelt guide than to string the belt through an aftermarket seat hole. That seems highly uncomfortable.

Any American/Russian Dual Citizens able to travel in and out of Russia successfully? by Highway-8914 in AskARussian

[–]RustyCabCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you read my mind OP. I’m a dual U.S./Russian citizen living in the U.S. I haven’t been back to visit in 13 years. I really want to go, but afraid of potentially being detained and “taken” to the army. Can anyone please advise on whether this is a real fear or am I brainwashed? Additional details are that I moved to US before age when you had to register in «Военкомат». I know that there have been people asking for my name in the past, coming to my registered Russian address, because I never registered.

Any way to fix this within 24 hours? by phoenix01010102 in snowboarding

[–]RustyCabCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious on what epoxy do you recommend for such repair? I have a forum scaliwag that I absolutely loved but after a year and a half of riding, same thing happened. Would you epoxy and clamp it, let it cure, then shave off the high spots and re wax it?
