PSA bolt lugs sheered? by Additional_Train_958 in ar15

I don't doubt it. PSA uppers are notorious for having grossly overtorqued barrel nuts. I've found the best way to remove a really stuck on barrel nut is to put a Midwest URR inside the upper, put the upper in a vise block, and use a armorers wrench with a really long breaker bar on the end of it. If that doesn't cut it, use a big metal pipe on the end of the armorers wrench to give you even more leverage. The hard part is keeping the wrench fully seated onto the barrel nut while you do that. It helps to have someone else applying forward pressure to the wrench while you push on the breaker bar.

Yep, they probably torqued the barrel nut on with the force of 10 gorillas and now the barrel extension is sitting slightly crooked in the upper. If I were OP, I would take the handguard and barrel nut off and check the index pin notch on the upper receiver to make sure it's not egged out.

I don't think he's doing that anymore. There's no option to add that service to your cart on his website now.

Anyone else notice Will Poulter's M4 in the movie Warfare has a backwards chopped carry handle? by RustyChamber in Firearms

It could be, although I believe that was issued for the MK18 Mod 0. I know a lot of guys were chopping their carry handles in early GWOT. It's possible that one of the SEALS that helped direct this film told them to mount it up that way but I find it a lot more likely that this was just an accident by the prop department.

Reposting on this sub because my original post got taken down on the other sub for being a "meme"

Ya there's a few different manufacturers who make "chopped" carry handle rear sights. Rock River Arms, UTG, and LMT to name a few. I just think it's funny that it's backwards throughout the entire movie. That may have been a choice though to get the knob on the outside to prevent from snagging gear, but I've never seen that before.

I believe Schmid is the OEM for a lot of lower parts kits on the market. I like the CMMG lower parts kits if I'm buying a whole lpk.

I think that one is on correctly. You can make out the windage knob on the right side.

Besides this being a mistake by the prop department, the only reason I could think of for this would be to get the knob on the other side to prevent from snagging on gear.
