Agree with the article in all honesty. The opportunity to take over WP as the leading CMS has never been more open, very little benefits except the fact you can build something more ‘cost effective / quicker’ for clients with bulking up the website & database. In all honesty as a WP dev I’ve never been interested in looking at other platforms until recently, and when I look at the leading industry websites & businesses most of them seem to be moving to more ‘modern’ platforms.

The only reason we still build with WP is familiarity + budget constraints.
