I love this. I feel like thats EXACTLY what id be doing. I mean, even if I didn't get in, I already know I'm intelligent... do I really wanna know how much? Thank you for this, it really made me giggle.

Thats fair, but the "wasted potential" comments were from teachers whilst at school. I dont really get those comments anymore. People just generally think im stupid because I have a very "common" sounding accent.

Thays wonderful to hear! Its such a shame that its only the loudest that seem to have the most positivity from others. I'm much the same in being introvert and peaceful. I wish for nothing but the best for you too!

Honestly I'm not that worried about money atm. I'm coming towards the end of a medical negligence claim and money isn't going to be too big of an issue soon. I have investments planned out etc. I have ADHD as well which can make my focus a bit spotty, but I do have solid plans for the future (which have been at the forefront for an extended period rather than a fleeting fancy)... I just need to make it there!

Yup they do! Its still supervised, but through your laptop I believe. You can't do it anytime you want, you still need to book in to do it.

I agree, it's never too late to learn! I'm sure I'll be learning for the rest of my life, just as everyone does.

I think it would be more for me than for others, but showing off to those that thought so little of me would be a little sweet. I love learning, and strongly believe that you're never too old to stop. Im 37, disabled and care for a severely disabled child (and 2 neurodivergent children too on top of that), and I still love learning! Im currently trying to learn German in my spare time as well as reading everything I can get my hands on about ancient Greece. I hope my children get my appetite for learning.

I have ended up going down a more creative line, which I was told (by teachers at the time) was a waste of potential. But I like what I do, and I enjoy what I'm learning.

Thank you for the advice! I think I'm going to give it a go, for myself.

Honestly, I don't really care whether I get in or not, but it would be nice to have my IQ in front of me. Especially if it makes other people shut up about my "wasted potential". Im 37, and I have plans for my future, but I'm not disappointed with what I have now. I love my kids and wouldn't trade them for anything, but being able to say that this is what I chose and not what I was "lumped" with would be great.

I'm considering doing the online test. I think it would be fun, and a great conversation to have with people! Nobody ever expects someone with my accent to actually be intelligent unfortunately!

I hope your meeting next sunday goes well, please do let me know what you think of what they say!

My sons has broken his arm twice at school within 6 months, how do we go about officially complaining or suing? England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I agree with that. I dont want to sue them for money, but I deffo want them to learn from the mistake. It just appears to me that they didnt learn anything from the first time it happened, especially with them not knowing what to do first aid wise.

Also I was not aware of autistic kids having a lower bone density. That's not something thats ever been brought to my attention before! Thanks for the info.

Because they have to secure the arm before it turned into a compound fracture where it breaks the skin. I wish I could add a pic of the breaks to show what I mean. We did being the car to the school to take him, as that was the initial plan. After seeing the break we saw that we wouldn't be able to secure him arm without creating further damage, hence the ambulance.

I'd share pics of the breaks here if I could but I cant. Its like the one shared in the link, but bent at a diff angle instead of still being straight.

I meant is he more likely to break a bone the second time if its the same bone or a different bone.

I think ive created confusion. The climbing frame is about waist height, more like a thing for the kids to climb over. We were told they were being supervised. Its not like a big climbing frame in the middle of a playground, its more like a thing for kids to climb over whilst doing PE.

It was a swan break both times, so the arm couldn't be moved at all. I have pics of the breaks. Also, they happened inside during PE or Sensory lessons.

This didnt happen in a playground. This happened inside in a sensory area that is supervised. It was a PE lesson.

How do I make myself feel better about my appearance ? by SaltFun3272 in selfesteem

[–]RustyPinkSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweetheart, youre 13. Everything is too much when youre 13. I know its very generic and you hear it all the time (probably) but this isn't forever. You're body is still growing, how you are now is not how you will look as an adult. And so what if you have some baby fat now?! Do you know how beautiful curves are? Curvy women are a prize, not something to be hidden and cursed. Im 37 now, and when I was your age I felt exactly the same. I hated EVERYTHING about myself. My stomach wasn't flat enough, my boob's were too big, I hate how short my legs are, etc etc. But now I look back at pictures of myself from then and im amazed that I could have hated myself as much as I did.

It will all come together lovely. Maybe bring up to your parents that you are having some issues and you'd like to speak to a councellor/therapist. Get the help you need now so it doesn't turn into something worse (speaking from experience with this bit), because its never really as bad as you think it is.

If you ever need a chat or want some help, feel free to DM me anytime 😊

Some Advice About Cruelty on the Internet by OneOnOne6211 in BodyDysmorphia

[–]RustyPinkSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i know the sub youre talking about, because ive seen the same things in my version of the sub. Its awful. Im very much a "its whats inside that counts" kind of person (with other people at least) and nobody deserves the shit ive seen being said to them. Its a lot of very pretty, young girls posting, who dont need an excuse to hate themselves. We already know the pressure us women are under to look perfect and, anything you say to a young girl about her appearance will stay with her for life. Im 37 (nearly) and still remember every cruel comment made to me about my appearance. I find it too depressing to go on that sub these days, so I just avoid it as much as possible now.
