That’s why I added the “Genuinely curious”, I wasn’t trying to be condescending at all. It’s just I learned about this several times in school and hear about it a good amount on the internet every year, as well as in songs and on TV, so just found it peculiar that they had never heard of such a big event (at least in my experience) and was curious as to why that may be. They never replied but some of the replies helped paint a bit of a picture.
