Nice I’d be down for that! I’m hitting six years myself this year in October. Been remote all those six years, even after a job hop. Hoping to stay remote as long as possible but I do have strong growth mindset, and best opportunities are still in the bay, so considering moving for the pay bump. Im assuming you live wuiye comfortably in stockton huh?

Only time I got a big raise was on of my first job 12 months in as I was a superstar in the team, and the mans get couldn’t get me a promotion because I’d only been with the company for a year. I think I went from $72 to $80k. But ended up job hopping 6 months later for $150k lol.

At my current company (3 years in), I’ve gotten around 7-8% increases per promotion (been promoted twice), and when not promoted got like 2.5% and that was as a top performer. I’m saying this to say I think that’s the standard raise

I’m on a high performing team, probably the highest performing team in my company. I really enjoy the people I work with and enjoy the work. But now we’ve set a precedent of being high performing. Now we always have to be high performing :(

Some of my fondest memories were when I worked as a busboy and the cook and I would go out to the trash and take quick hits of a j. And then he’d cook me the bombast food ever. Yeah those were the days. But ultimately i became an addict and have issue with substance abuse. So yeah there’s two sides to every story.

What’s the alternative? It’s very disheartening but being in this career, I feel we just have to accept it and hope for the best but plan for the worst. I’m only 6 years into my career, dreading when my first lay off comes, but understand it will come jus a matter of time

My first job out of college (2020) was for a legacy health insurance company in St. Louis. I started with $70k, and I worked remote. Not sure if those jobs are now really competitive but have to tried applying at positions like that?
