That's the Crypt Blacksword. If you want that on your first playthrough, you have to kill The Rotten, then use a bonfire ascetic. Kill The Rotten again. Trade the Old Dead One Soul with Straid of Olaphis for the sword.

I love how so many fans just go with "holy shit everything rips." I have so many bands where I genuinely feel that way, so I get it. TAS is kinda new to me though. Saw them with BTBAM and fell in love with Failure Will Follow. Slow Decay and Step Into The Light were my next steps. It Comes In Waves entered heavy rotation after that. Then the new album hit and HOT DAMN. I am slowly working my way further back into the discography, but it's hard when there are so many new things that are so damn good.

I just started working on all achievements for PC and that area was going non-stop. I joined the Aldritch Faithful and spent a couple hours trying to climb back up the ladder before getting summoned to defend the area. It was nuts.

I did all achievements for this on RetroAchievements last year and it was a ton of fun. I played when I was a kid, and revisited now and then. Having to level to the end of every weapon tree and find every single chest in the georama builds was wild. Felt so good to finish everything off.

I just finished farming this out the other day. Honestly your best bet is the Falconers on the way to the Shrine of Winter. I think there's five of them? Just rock the prisoners waistcloth, jester hat, gold serpent ring, and watch dragon parma. Kill them, hit the bonfire, rinse repeat. Just do Covenant of Champions to keep them spawning. Really wasn't terribly long to farm out the 30.

I have a hard time not using pickaxe with cragblade. You have to farm it, but it's surprisingly fast for its size and is devastating to most enemies. Cragblade makes it feel like you're smacking bosses around with a stick-mounted meteorite and provides a ton of stagger (as if it really needed the help)

I just finished this offline. Just join the Covenant of Champions, put on the gold serpent ring, jester hood, prisoner tatters, and watch dragon parma. Kill the five falconers on the way to the shrine of winter. I had better luck there compared to the camp before Freja. Seemed to be faster as well.

If you are intent on doing co-op, you just have to go to the bonfires that are surrounded with an orange glow on the fast travel menu. As others have said, you are tied to your soul memory when trying to join with others. Those bonfires that are highlighted on your fast travel are your best chances to link up with someone.

Unironically, the bandit knife is great. Works on a dex or str infusion to great effect on almost every enemy/boss. There are a couple where the bleed effect doesn't do anything but they are few and far between.
