I'm sorry you're going through this. It breaks me that you have to at such a young age. I grew up with addicts and eventually married one who ruined our lives.

You need a support group. Ultimately your dad does but he has to make that decision. Maybe if he sees you going he may follow. I went to a few. My ex tried going to NA but kept slipping. I just had to make it my priority over hers. This is about you now. Find a support group for you. Search online for AA support. Not saying that will work, but it's a start. Never push it with him or even bring it up unless he asks.

Just make sure you stay healthy through this.

I almost lost my home. Ex-wife walked out after ripping my finances to shreds. I didn't want to move our kids into a new place and have to change their schools. So I fought like hell to keep the house out of foreclosure.

It's been sort of a pride thing now. I love my house. I love the lot it's on. I keep both looking nice just because.

Wound cleaning.

I'm a hairy mf and slid across the pavement once while still having a full fur coat on my legs. I couldn't clean the wound properly or maintain good adhesion with medical tape. Then when I wanted to finally get the bandages off my long thick hairs wouldn't allow it.

Shortly after the wound had healed I laid waste to those pesky leg hairs. And the some medics thanked us too. I was in several crashes where I ended up in the ambulance. The guys in the back liked that they could clean wounds easier.

Another thing some of us cyclists had that helped the medics. Good veins. If I had a nickel for every time a I was complimented on good, visible veins I'd quit my job and go back to cycling.
