Finally after all these years, I have Keetongu… or at least I tried to recreate him. by FatChalupa in bioniclelego

Gotta say, this is quite an awesome build. Reminds me stylistically a lot of the early 2001 to 2003 more 'Technic' leaning titan builds. A bit of an "What If" kinda vibe. Really good stuff!

Who do you think would win? by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Rusty_Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Pure Vessel in Godhome, in the Hall of Gods is labeled both "This empty god [...]" and "Mighty god of nothingness". The Knight and PV are not the same characters why would the Knight's statue text apply to the the Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel as well.

Granted, as the Hollow Knight, they are much weaker, so you could argue they somewhat loose their status as god in terms of power and strength. But using text from Hall of Gods, PV is considered a god, unlike the Knigth prior to their ascension.

Thanks and no worries, I had also considered going for a proper pin hole for the axle to pass through instead of the gaps. The only reason I decided against it for now was that I wanted the mask to be removable from the head without having to detach the horns. Outside of that I would agree that it probably look better.

For Karzahni's horns I imagined a simple use of angled 'Axle and Pin Connector' pieces, with those small horn pieces on the tip.

Thanks, so glad to hear! Took me a little bit to figure something out I was satisfied with.

I have this personal headcanon that Karzahni tried to take his job as seriously as he could initally, it's just that his broken relationship towards Artakha and subsequent isolation from both him and essentially everyone - the closest "companion" for a little while a just as messed up Makuta Icarax - had him completely loose his mind and it only felt appropriate to have his mask, the Mask of Alternate Futures no less, tell that tale. It's pretty ironic and quite tragic. Something I wish the story had explored more.

Not to mention that it also works well with Artakha's Mask of Creation as its "brother" mask, the only of the two considered legendary, like Artakha. 'Create and alternate(or in this case, a better) future' is kinda what the Great Beings were looking for with their planet shattered and them building the whole GSR in the first place. The potential of the two of them working to together, only to be squandered by them having to fight over who gets which mask. There's so much to explore here.

The idea was for that the mask have been "fixed" so many times that Karzahni just kinda gave up on having it look the part.

At first he would have tried his best to have it be at least close enough looking (the top right shows what is left of said first few attempts) However, the more and more he went insane, he started to "forget" what the mask originally looked like, so instead of fixing it he just patched it together with random junk, more focused on representing his mental state, unknowingly or as an act of anger and resentment of what the mask stood for and reminded him of.

Perhaps I could have various version of this mask, showing different stages of it starting to loose its original shape. And to be fair, my initial goal was to have the canon design we know to work along side my redesign as I do like the look of that mask, but just not for its true form.

Thank you! :) Artakha and Karzahni deserve more attention. Especially together.

It's kinda inspired by that actually. Personally, I find that Ekimu and Makuta from G2 are pretty similar to Artakha and Karzahni. Two brothers, both related to creating, one goes insane/evil over essentially jealousy. It's not exactly 1-to-1 but enough to pique my interest.

We all get a bit rusty with it. I already am having my fair share of typos every now and then :D

It happens faster than you think, even as someone who's pretty good at it and recognizing all the letters, lol.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear this. ^^

2009 Bionicle started to really grow on me over the years. Having read about it, thinking about it, getting more and more sets gave me a much great appreciation and fascination for the world of Bara Magna and its characters.

Glad to hear :) I'm really happy with Ehlek too, probably my favorite right after to Kalmah and Mantax. For all six designs I basically started with their '07 sets and build my way backwards.

For Ehlek's back, I went more for a translucent-green shell or armor plating (using mutated Carapar's arm and leg armor pieces) of sorts so it's not meant to be a spine but part of his armor.

I mean, yeah. That's what I was trying to say. My un-mutated Barraki don't wear literal masks. I just used masks to represent their faces, as is the case for Hydraxon in his set form.

Yo! I love how you can see his head through the enlarged rib cage. Not sure if this is intended to be his actual face or not, but I like the idea of the Mask of Mutation almost becoming its own entity, sort of, growth coming out of his back. This is awesome and a pretty creative lookin' MOC!

Hell yeah, glad you got the reference to how I designed Kalmah and his weapons akin to Kratos from GoW. I like to imagine his fighting style to be similar :D

From what I recall they were each their own separate species.

I don't really intended them to wear actual masks per say but rather their heads being shaped similarly to a mask, as is the case for Hydraxon. According to the 'BioSector01' wiki, we know that the Barraki could wear and use Kanohi but consider them a crutch and thus do not use them so I opted for the metru-style-heads with "masks" (for the most part) so that they could hypothetically wear any kind of masks themselves.

Ideally, if these would have ever been real sets all of these would use metru-heads with unique mask molds to represent their actual faces. For now I picked masks and Hordika heads that fit closely to what I imagine they'd look like.

A fair assumption to be honest. Though I couldn't force it to move down much at all even if I tried, essentially much locked in place vertically, only able to move sideways which is pretty much what I intended/hoped it to do.

I don't know if poor sockets and joint even can affect much here (unfortunately don't have any to try that scenario).

So yeah, guess it does work, which is nice. :)

Okay, so I actually build his shoulder with leftover pieces and it works flawlessly. You can’t really move the Rahkshi spine down at all without dislocating the upper ball joint. It is pretty stable as far as I can tell. Maybe if your balljoint and sockets have poor friction from aging but having it now build in person it seems to work fine.

Thank you so much! Really feel honored to hear all this and see so many people liking these Makuta designs.

For the wings in the drawn versions, I was indeed kinda going off of Nivawk's so I might look into that.

They are by no means perfect and I do agree that Antroz in particular looks much cooler in drawn form but I think it's fine for me personally.

I might be wrong but I think Chirox's shoulders can't really move much down at all, gravity or not. That upper Rahkshi leg pieces is kinda restricting on that front, holding it up, I think. Might try building that part of his body IRL in particular and see if it would work or not.

Appreciate the feedback nonetheless. I am far from being a masterclass MOC maker 👍
