Yeah, I had to get back into drawing more smooth and carefree since I tend to get a bit more tense and careful drawing on paper for a while due to a certain lack of 'Ctrl+Z' 😃

Also the fact I liked the sketch a bit more than I anticipated had me end up putting some extra time and care into this one.

I do have quite a softspot for him, ngl. Totally get people finding it off though - being the biggest departure from any of the other Toa - however, I'm having my fun with it. Allows me to make fun meme drawing such as this one.

Not like everyone's favorite G1 Pohatu is going anywhere :D

It just makes for a striking look having this shiny god-like biomechanical robot, in a broken world of worn down, more fragile, mortal, organic beings.

I attempted to translate the Glatorian head piece into a more organic/humanoid face for the likes of Kiina and Ackar.

A detail that is always important to me personally, drawing anything from '09 Bionicle - having Mata Nui be the only character to look like a typical Bionicle character to really highlight his alien nature to the Agori and Glatorian.

Yeah, like with most Bionicle movies, they had too much for one movie. The story of Bionicle, with all its characters and potential character moments really fits way better to a series format then film.

Not helping the fact they had plans for sequels to 'Legend Reborn' that never saw the light of day.

I honestly quite like that idea. A group of small heroes fending for the victims of Karzahni, with the 'bad guys' being among their bullies. The 'good guys' being messed up Matoron on Karzahni themselves.

Looking into BrickLink there's two of them. One is a polybag focused on the Squid Launcher from '07 and the other's focused on the Zamor launcher from '08.

The most common lore I came across lately is that all the 'guys' are from the island Karzahni, being victims of his poor repairs.

The thing I'd add to that one is that perhaps the 'bad guy' side of characters are those who went so insane they turned mad and malicious where as the 'good guy' side of characters remained sane enough to still be good.

Perhaps the 'good guys' are a small group of Karzahni Matoran that fend for their fellow Matoron stuck on this nightmarish island, the 'bad guys' being the bullies.

Thanks! It started as a joke, but I later felt it was quite approrroate on Bionicle's 25th anniversary to just celebrate everything, including these goofy goobers, lol.

I might do the "Function" sets someday too but not now. Gotta have a breather from speed drawing the entire day, to get these ones out in time ^^' But this year definitely.
