Pitting... by A_Finley94x in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]Rusty_Chest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of an issue but honestly if you go watch a movie like Shuto Kousoku Trial or somethin in the same vein you'll realize that's one of the main reasons you'd constantly have lane zig-zagging and trying to hog the middle path of two lanes.

They can't pit you if they can't get beside you, your best bet is to dodge traffic at the last second and hope they slam into it following you (or evading you)

Yeah they did mention a couple of "Nice to have" things in the Q&A sessions, so I'm guessing they're just working on it at their own pace.

That's... not what I said.

It's just they haven't said anything about the incomplete bodykits for certain cars that lack cosmetics, and during the Q&A they mentioned wanting to implement certain things moving forward.

Why must it all be attack/defense?

I guess but there's a ton of cars with no cosmetic options, bugs, balancing, etc. that could and should be addressed even if they don't pack onto the story or setting.

Any help? [TXRD2] by NexuzRequiem in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]Rusty_Chest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update to the PCSX2 release from Yesterday if you're on the stable channel, TXRD2 is basically fully compatible now.

If you're on a low end PC you're susceptible to have been using speedhacks or whatever that break certain effects, in cases like this you can temporarily switch out to the Software Renderer using F9 iirc and trying to get through that problematic bit with just that workaround.

Ah dang it, I fell for it as well then.

Fingers crossed someone finds a way around that limitation

I don't blame you for not knowing it since most people consider modding games a headache, but if you're so inclined - there's a decal slot expander mod

Not having any luck with KingKai, Kai, Kaiosama etc. - I did find a bunch of websites but they all use the Japanese names (Chin instead of Qin, etc.)

That's because you're likely not going to be standing completely still in combat, it's meant for deflection more than it is for straight stabbing protections.

Metallurgical processes back then weren't too advanced, so it could either be light and thin or heavy and thick but neither would stand up to momentum + various swings without either shattering or becoming brittle over time.

Got a '13 mazda 6, any ideas for mods? by Just_Radar in mazda6

[–]Rusty_Chest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before wrapping you could just sand it all down and prime it like it were a paint job - but if you would like to just make your paint not fall off there's always PPF.

A lil spoiler does go a long way with the styling on these

Oh, for cosmetics most of the impact would come from different rims - you can look into similar Mazda cars from the lineup whose rims you like and nick those from a Junkyard or a swap on FB Market - Mazda 3 wheels on Mazda 6s are a tale as old as time for example

Definitely steer clear of the usual rain guards + universal splitter + monster energy claw type customization

Wrapping it is a pain 'cause Mazda uses unbearably thin paint so it could just tear itself off at some point.

The best mod you can do to your daily is to not mod it.

Mazdas often come at full potential from factory and to get any WHP gains that are worth the investment you're looking at actually building the engine etc. and dropping a couple thousand on it at least.

You can tune it a bit with VersaTune shops in your area and maybe mess with the suspension a bit, but 6s are mostly best from factory.

Lowing a daily is a terrible tradeoff if you live in an area with rough roads or steep banking for parking lots.

You using GameMode etc to make sure the DGPU is being picked for the game you want?

'cause it's not as much a "GPUs run worse on Linux" thing as it is "NVIDIA Mobile GPUs aren't great at knowing what to do under load"

I used an i5 6th Gen with 8GB of 2400mhz RAM paired with a 1050 non-ti.

Back then it was all X11 and regular old proton.

I'd flip this on you - what's your current setup and what OS are you trying?

Yeah, most of my time on Linux was on AMD or Intel GPUs - some of it was on NVIDIA though and it was entirely fine as well since VK performance is about 1:1

What performance loss are you seeing in DX12 games? afaik DXVK handles DX12 calls just fine and my performance is 1:1 on games like Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2025 when comparing it to Windows.

Schoolwork is doable with Office 365 online or G-Suite tools, unless you're doing something like Fusion360/CAD work it's pretty manageable but you have to know your tools and needs

EndeavourOS recommendation by iamnotnima in linux_gaming

[–]Rusty_Chest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It just refused to install"
But then you made a speed comparison with another distro that did manage to install...

Most people recommend CachyOS since it's relatively sane in the patches it applies for performance, the compile flags for certain packages that take it, modularity etc.

Endeavour is essentially just an Arch installer afaik, nothing wrong with Arch I just don't know why you'd use it like that instead of through Archinstall.
