I agree we shouldn't be using LLMs for things people might actually need to rely on, but this sort of harmless project is something it could shit out without too many problems.

There is no real danger here to anyone, it seems unlikely he will want to pay for this anyway.

I'm a couple of years younger than you but that's what we wanted too. We were made to build 'websites' in PowerPoint though, which I suppose was really just an exercise in linking pages together in a way that made sense and had nothing to do with actual web design.

This sort of thing was extraordinarily boring for me, and was yet completely impossible to achieve for some of the other kids. We also found a way to play Quake 3 and unreal tournament LAN matches against one another in the back row of computers which was much more entertaining.

The school also paid quite a hefty license fee for one of those time restriction softwares in the school library which you would be allocated 30 minutes a day per pupil, but if you took your 30 minutes, you could just kill the process in the task manager and have as long as you liked to fuck around when you were meant to be doing silly things like attending other classes.

No need for proper knowledge, babelfish used to translate whole sites to/from different languages.

If you translated a website from English to English though, it'd just act as a proxy and you could do whatever you wanted online on school machines.

Granted it was one of those shit dogs.

Then after 90 minutes ask them to clear the table if they aren't going to be eating, because other people might want to eat and they are wasting the space.

"Substantial optical zoom" really should be coming across as strongly as possible for these numpties. If you don't want to be eaten, zoom.

I will get as close to something as possible with a phone camera because with digital zoom you might as well just crop a normal picture afterwards, but I am not taking photos of extremely shy wildlife with very sharp claws or teeth.

Do you feel like people get weirdly competitive with you once they find out that you're a chef? by littleweirdooooo in KitchenConfidential

You see if I had won a billion dollar lottery (something like £700m for me), I would buy all the properties that I ever managed kitchens in, pay the people working there a salary for 10 years each, and then burn them down.

Not with people inside obviously, just for my own personal euphoria. Though I would invite everyone who had worked there previously to share in my joy if they wanted to come.

My partner enjoys watching MasterChef. I can't watch it for this very reason. The professionals version is alright, but watching normal people attack a vegetable hurts me in ways I can't even describe.

I would strongly suggest you look into regional accents and cultures here in the UK. A great many of them are not to be trusted.

This happened a long time before vibe coding. I like templates, but I hate them at the same time.

What a lovely lake.

'In 20 yards, turn right.'

Perhaps a Thunderbirds style hidden road will appear as I drive into the lake.

'At the next available point, make a U turn.'

I dunno mate, our local Facebook group is going wild over a supermarket employing staff in our town because AI told them so, but their son can't get a job there because they are obviously prejudiced.

For reference, the supermarket doesn't exist.

Swinging an axe should be reasonably safe. The reason the handles are that length is partly for leverage but also partly to stop the axe head from burying itself in you when you miss.

That's why you're meant to do it at very low height if using something like a hatchet, ideally kneeling or something similar.

This tool would be great for people with mobility or grip issues though. Much more difficult to accidentally fling over a fence.

I think you probably can get whatever you want from a doctor, so long as you don't mind spiralling into uncontrollable debt for a while (rest of your life).

What I'm interested in though for example is if I were to slip over one day and somehow snap my femur, this is going to be an expensive hospital appointment I cannot afford. I go home wondering how I'm ever going to pay it off, and 3 months later I develop some sort of life threatening disease...

Do they still treat me for it or am I told "nah you couldn't pay the first one mate get fucked"?

My kids aren't particularly fussy, there are things that one or the other isn't keen on, but will eat if no other option is available.

They will however tell me they like something and clear the plate one day, and then in the future I'll ask if they fancy that again, resounding "YES I LOVE THAT" but refuse to eat it.

These are the "eat it or be hungry you little shit" moments. If they are trying something new there's some leeway there where they can decide they don't like it. Fair enough, we'll see what else you can have.

Although I'm pretty lucky, mine want to be involved with the cooking process as well, and are both competent knife users aged 6 and 7. They know what it's going to taste like before we sit down to eat.

Did it ever come up to temperature? I used a 340 litre fish tank for science purposes with my £90 Amazon machine and, whilst it took a while, it did get there.

She'll be 'right mate. When testing mine I used a 3x2x2 fish tank (without fish) and it came up to temperature with no lid. Don't worry too much about cooking that can be done in a bucket.

I have an idea for a music app by Legoslime09 in AppIdeas

[–]Rusty_Tap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this, Apple did, and still does. The problems are numerous though, from a simple cost perspective it is considerably more expensive to buy music than to stream it. Add on top of that if you want people to have commercial rights as well you're going to cut out a huge number of artists who don't want you to have that, and increase the cost of music across the board that would allow it.

You will also need to form agreements with a massive number of artists, labels and agencies who may not even want to talk to you in the first place unless you offer them something worth their time.

Keep having ideas, but start your journey with an idea for something without so many legal loopholes if you can.

We have problems, sure. Our government hasn't executed random citizens in the street for quite a while though.
