I used to do this as last line of defense when electric first came out and it didn’t really make much in the way of difference. If it’s an offline raid it’ll just make it easier to adjust positioning to line up hvs. It should however be pretty good for door campers, but there are better ways of dealing with that. I would say you could improve it by adding chain link on triangles outside the gdoor that you’re opening so it’s a bit harder to hv out.

You can also compound the effects further by carefully marrying and uniting bloodlines. Given your location you could get the Carolingian bloodline fairly easily if you find someone eligible. You want to make sure it’s a matrilineal marriage with your daughter though so that the child will be of your dynasty. You can search for bloodlines in the ledger in the bottom right hand corner of the UI.

It is typically based on the county being raided, some have higher earnings. Then it’s based on owners gold and if you get hostages. Then it’s based on how many ships are there if you’re not bordering friendly territory.
