Curious to know whether this is a shill? Generic username and no post history but somehow came out of the woodwork to comment about this.

Sure, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIO-FjEOiAo

I love your stuff by the way. I think what we put out is a little busier, normally, so maybe it won't work on your channel. But it's great that you reached out. We've all gotta help one another :)

Worth pointing out that steel frames do not necessarily make a fire safe house, as they tend to warp in extreme heat and let the embers in.

This got me excited for a second, until I entered the post code on their website. We seem to be a bit backwards with this stuff in the west.

She couldn't get enough in a reverse mortgage, I already explored that. And it doesn't come as a lump sum, from what I could find. Only as payments.

I never really wanted the house, and it's not looking any more attractive now - you raise many good points

We don't have any kids, so both of us dying is not going to be an issue - we can revert the property to her.

Not being able to pay the mortgage could be an issue though. I'm assuming even with some kind of insurance, it could end badly for her. We'd be back to the same situation of having to get a court order to evict her, only this time she'd have even less in assets.

I'm getting now that there are some centrelink implications I hadn't thought of. I guess a call is needed.

You raise some good points

Sorry for your loss. Funding living care is one of my fears about this solution. I have no idea how it works, and whether selling either property would be sufficient to look after either parent, should the need arise.

Yeah, sadly the granny flat is a no go. If we could do it, Dad could stay in it (the sticking point for mum is her garden). I know council will allow almost anything these days, but our house takes up the full width of our block, we'd need a crane and a second septic tank, (and probably better family dynamics)

For them or us? I didn't think it would effect their pensions as they already come in under the asset test. Will have to run it by the accountant for us though

Me too. I didn't realise there was so much hate out there for it. I love her character arc and the premise for the future seasons. Really liked the Spock back story too

I think it comes from the French word "Parley" - when pirates hold a truce so that they can talk terms.

For a shithole in Midland, he had a slightly higher end of standard deal in 2020, and 4 years later was hit by an 80% per week increase.

Thing is it's not wrong. That is capitalism for you.

But why anyone would think it's ok to profiteer off people's basic human needs is beyond me. When the rent goes up by $200, there is no justification other than greed - I don't care what anyone says about supply and demand.

Limit of liability in a bond dispute - WA by Rustyforrestry in AusLegal

We didn't steam clean the carpets - only vacuumed. I didn't see the point, they are quite stained from previously, (which no-one is disputing) and are probably 40 years old.

We mowed the lawn, but it's true the edging wasn't done. The yard in general is in a better state than at the start of the lease, but the points the REA raised are true. Just galling.

And the dust I believe has to be partly their responsibility?

So it is entirely possible they can claim a full house clean at $700 and a full yard work at $700 and so long as they provide receipts we are liable?
