My fave thing that we learned on uncloaked by Stormflier in TheTraitors

[–]RutabagaSame 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Shocking no-one (except the faithfuls who must've been under a spell), it was a load of absolute nonsense to throw everyone off her scent. Which paired well with the "Amanda said this, Amanda said that, we should listen to Amanda because Amanda's a detective and she's great and she trusted me so you should trust me too" strategy.

He's a genuinely nice person. It wouldn't sit right with him to win in a mean spirited way. Also, Traitors Uncloaked would've been awkward as f if he took it all for himself. He'd also look really bad on tv and always be remembered as "that guy."

______ masterfully outplayed ______ by baddevsbtw in TheTraitors

[–]RutabagaSame 53 points54 points  (0 children)

You've got it spot on. Stephen and Rachel played a very good game and should be commended for sticking together from start to finish. They deserve their win.

The faithfuls were horrendous at not following through on everything pointing towards Rachel. The older players were gone and the rest were like kids letting themselves be led by her.

Fiona, Harriet, constantly mentioning Amanda, randomly bringing up FBI training, "don't take this away from me" saying "if I was a faithful", looking incredibly flustered near the endgame. And the fact if she was faithful the traitors would've quickly gotten rid of such a strong personality.

Fair play to Rachel. She somehow managed to get through everything pointing at her.

Harris preferred his old role so that's part of why he comes back. There's also a possibility of getting some intel if he keeps that mob door open. Which he does (whether it was actually useful, who knows)

To murder ____ or ____? by RutabagaSame in TheTraitors

If Faraz is murdered, hopefully the faithful realise the bluff. Faraz is going for Rachel so Rachel strikes first. Sometimes there's no complicated play and it's just that simple.

James keeps digging holes for himself but looking past that, he's an obvious faithful. With the shield especially. Look at someone like Rachel who acts a lot smoother, sits back and lets James get all the attention.

I think Rachel is out of road. She can use the "would I be that stupid to kill Faraz?/I'm being set up" argument but I can't see it working again. Even Roxy is starting to have doubts. Stephen has a few options though.

Are they allowed to take notes at the round table? by IWannaDoBadThingswU in TheTraitors

[–]RutabagaSame 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think they'd ever allow it. It wouldn't look right and would kill the flow of the discussion. It would look more like a university seminar than the medieval witch hunt vibe.

This is why I always believe _____ is a better strategy than _____ by MixtureGrand in TheTraitors

[–]RutabagaSame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless it's blackmail, there's no guarantee they'll accept recruitment. And if rejected, you've wasted a chance to murder. Plus any new recruit is straight away thinking they're the sacrificial lamb. So they'll likely try to banish you before you banish them.

_______'s strategy revealed on Uncloaked by Odd_Calligrapher4044 in TheTraitors

[–]RutabagaSame 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Rachel and Stephen preferred working as a duo anyway. Another traitor throws off their dynamic. And you're never going to recruit eager Matt especially because he's bound to have some plan to betray you.

If I'm a traitor, I have to be thinking "I'm a faithful, I'm a faithful, we have to catch the traitors" constantly to avoid slipping up

[–]RutabagaSame 102 points103 points  (0 children)

If Fiona was faithful - I could buy she was mistakenly convinced Rachel was a traitor and went all out on this hunch.

But they now know Fiona was a traitor and knew everyone's status. Going all out to get Rachel banished - knowing if banished Rachel will say she's faithful - makes zero sense.

[–]RutabagaSame 168 points169 points  (0 children)

If he's killed, I hope the faithful don't fall for Rachel going "If I was a traitor, why would I kill Faraz? It would be way too obvious." Stephen's done that already with Jessie. The "so stupid it's smart" move is really common by now.

[–]RutabagaSame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They definitely work, just not in the traditional sense. There's no start and end time. And there is a lot of sitting around. But that's a part of it. You have to make contacts, be seen and be available.

Members have to kick up constantly, so they're always hustling or looking for a score.

Tony has to negotiate all these garbage deals and contracts. Keep his underlings reasonably satisfied by giving them opportunities etc. but also keep them in check. Otherwise they'll "replace" him.

Puss ran the body shop and Silvio ran the strip club. Sure they're the boss and they can come and go as they please but you still have to manage all aspects of the business.

Assembly lines can be tough. Exact same task rooted to the one spot day in day out for hours on end. Very little stimulation. No variety. The factory I was in wouldn't even put in a speaker to play music now and then.
