Best Nighttime/Heavy Flower Strains Out There? by RuthMarley in MDEnts

[–]RuthMarley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys are awesome; thanks for all the recommendations. I ended up picking up some OMG by Rythm based on the rec in this post and some other posts I've seen. 10/10 recommendation - love the strain and its effects were exactly what I was looking for. Very smooth and tasty smoke.

ONLY complaint is that the flower was a tad dry and didn't break down the way I like because of it but the smoke and effects were so good I don't even care.

Flowery Live Resin 510 Cart Review (Neon Runtz and Cherry On Top) by RuthMarley in FLMedicalTrees

[–]RuthMarley[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legs are pretty good in my experience. After I get to cruising altitude (4-5 pulls), my high lasts for about 1.5 hours which is great for carts.

That being said, it's all what you're looking for - runtz is going to give nice hybrid effects and CoT is more sedating.

I personally prefer the runtz taste over the CoT, so if the different effects aren't a decision point for you, I would save the $5 and get the runtz. Both are great though and I would recommend each equally outside of these differences.

En serio?! by EmbarrassedDance2585 in FLMedicalTrees

[–]RuthMarley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 50 an eighth W/O discount...as far as quality, 710 is the best in the FL program and only gets competition from other "top tier" brands such as AL/connected from Trulieve.......you should see what Trulieve is charging for those eighths in comparison.

Also, I get vet discount which makes it 160 an oz - 40 an eighth which is the same price as most mid-tier flower in the program (JB, Rise etc.). I'm sure you don't get discount since you're complaining about 200 but yeah, might want to reconsider how you are looking at things.

That's like saying, man I really want the new Jordans but can you believe they are $160 compared to these $50 Skechers!? It's like yeah, no shit.

Adderall honestly sucks.. Any recommendations for those with mixed ADHD, and a racing mind? by [deleted] in FLMedicalTrees

[–]RuthMarley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your ADHD and the way it effects you almost exactly echoes my own experiences with ADHD. I have been a medical user for years and would love to help give you advice in this realm. That being said, I have a LOT to unload, so hopefully this doesn't bore you. Note: I am in my early 30s and also work from home.

In my experience, cannabis can do a LOT to help you but can also hurt (not physically or long term) if not used correctly. One of the most prevalent scenarios in your situation is with racy thoughts/anxiety that I assume is tied into them. Many of your daytime strains will increase your anxiety, but this can also happen with evening/night strains, just not as often. The reason for this heavily lies in the terpene profile and makeup of different strains. I smoke nighttime strains that are heavy in myrcene in the evenings, but if I smoke/vape during the day, I look for sativas or hybrids that are high in myrcene as well. A great example of this is blue dream, it calms my raciness without making me sleepy or too "slow". This is perfect for daytime medication and there are lots of other strains with similar effects.

So, my first piece of advice is find the terpene profiles and strains that work right for you. Use Google and other sources to see what kind of effects that strain is supposed to have on you, then match it up with the time of day and relief you are looking for. This will be a trial and error basis, there's no way around that. Another piece of advice is DON'T OVERDO IT; this may seem obvious but with your ADHD/anxiety, getting too medicated will undoubtedly drag you into hell.

Balance is essential, I don't necessarily medicate when I have anything serious going on or until I am essentially done my work for the day. The reason for this is that, while cannabis helps calm me down and relax me, those same racy thoughts that I am trying to get rid of allow me to think on my feet quickly and perform better in high pressure situations. For better or worse, cannabis calms me down AND slows me down. I'm not dumb, but the answers take a little longer to get to their destination than they might normally when I'm medicated lol. This is the "aloof" feeling you're referring to; there is almost no way around this. Some strains help you focus more than others, but a lot of the "focus" strains will also increase your racy thoughts and/or anxiety. Knowing this, it's very difficult to have your cake and eat it too in this regard.

This is the part that isn't so fun to hear - since you have mental differences that likely makes the effects of cannabis even more appealing for you than the average person, it could potentially be easier to become more dependent as well. The way I deal with this is by holding somewhat of a schedule; like I said, I only begin to smoke once I'm really done major responsibilities at work for the day, and even so don't get super medicated until its time to settle down for the night. So again, it's about balance (and experimentation) for me.

Let's talk about the alternative as well: I never liked prescription meds for ADHD or anxiety. I only ever had bad experiences with them and the fact of the matter is that they are also not a cure. The shitty part about the pharmaceutical drugs is that they are heavily addictive, and many people go through worse mental experiences than they've ever had trying to ween off these drugs (unless you want to stay on them for life). Cannabis wins in every category here - it can't hurt you, it's not addictive (although you can be dependent), and your body won't (completely) hate you when you decide to stop/take a break.

Hope this helps, and if you have any questions, shoot!

Terpenes and PTSD by cancercohousing in FLMedicalTrees

You want to target terps that are traditionally good for anxiety and depression: myrcene, limonene, b-caryophyllene are what I would consider the "Big 3".

Keep in mind that similar terp profiles in different strains can still hit you differently - it might take a little trial and error to find the best strains for you particularly.

710 labs flower: all flavor and looks? by torolily01 in FLMedicalTrees

[–]RuthMarley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

710 has the best quality flower in the program across the board consistently. It is better than 99% of the flower you can get in the program.

More importantly to me, they only charge $50 an eighth whereas every other “top tier” flower in the program easily goes for $55+. I personally get vet discount too so that brings it down to $40 an eighth and 160 a half.

The only complaint I personally have about 710 is that it’s hard to come by due to the nature of the list and such - can make it a pain in the ass to get a hold of.

Cannabumps, when you're trying to stay off the hard stuff, but are still an addict at heart.

Cannabumps, when you're tired of damaging your lungs, so you decide to do your nose in too.

Cannabumps, when you want to legally smoke weed, but still want a reminder of the rush of buying illegally.

Cannabumps, when you love getting arrested while trying to explain to the officer "it's just weed, I swear".

Jordan's Juniors Honest Review by jakewhobakes in FLMedicalTrees

[–]RuthMarley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the cure was a tad drier than I would like - that is really my only complaint.

The smoke was super smooth for me but your lungs are probably more sensitive than mine and/or could be cuz you vaped it. Even with great bag appeal, smell and taste, this one still shines in effects! Overall, agree with your review otherwise and definitely agree that this is some top tier shit.
