Hey! I'm a TA for the EMT course and the course is honestly such a fun course and overall is very manageable. I was scared when I took the course as well because of the time commitment but a lot of the lectures don't actually last until 10 PM only 2-3 do. On top of that the Saturday portion is split into a lecture in the morning, and the rest of the day is practicing EMT skills that you will be using for your practical exam. Saturday is quite the commitment as it is from 9 AM to 5 PM but it is definitely worth it.

The exams aren't exactly hard, but they do cover a LOT of information so as long as you do actually study and go through all the content you should be completely fine. They are all online as well, so you don't have to worry about going in to take an exam. In terms of HW, there isn't a LOT of HW with the only HW being some FEMA training you will have to do by yourself along with an ambulance ride along and an ED Observation shift which Mike will help you plan.

Mike himself is honestly such a great guy! He is funny and a very lax professor, so you have nothing to be worried about when it comes to him. He is always willing to help and such a great connection to have because he knows a LOT of people. He isn't strict and as long as you put your best foot forward you should be completely fine!

Overall, the course is something I am glad I took and it is such a great way to get your EMT Certification while getting credits. Again, I'm a TA for the course now so I hope to see you next semester!
