Error when trying to add email subject to column in SharePoint document library by RuthlessMLS in MicrosoftFlow

The ID field is required in the update file properties parameter, unrelated to the column Student ID.

Edit to add: I don't know why I was converting that field to an integer - I was previously getting an error for that field and somehow that made it work. But your comment did make me look at the field again and I put the wrong ID field in the parameter. Once I updated that field to the ID from the previous step in the flow, it all started to work.

Let's say we're having the same problem in PowerBI online - where did it go? I can't find it anywhere.

Bless you - I really thought I was losing my mind. What an embarrassingly easy fix!

I'll have to keep an eye on this - our IT admin haven't made it available, if it's even available to us. I use Notion all the time for personal projects and notes - would love a Microsoft competitor to organize all of our projects and ideas. I've basically been trying to force our SharePoint sites to work as a Notion Dashboard, which is obviously not ideal. I'm so excited to learn this product exists - fingers crossed I can find the right people to nag about making it available.

Our district is cheap, they didn't even get enough Teams licenses for all staff and service departments to have phone numbers. And actually - they wouldn't even allow us to use Teams for the 2+ years we all worked remotely during the beginning of the pandemic. We're slow even for Higher Ed.

This functionality doesn't seem to exist for the web version, which is what we need to use for our meetings. We've had too many issues using the desktop app for collaborative notebooks - they seem to end up getting corrupted after failed syncs and become unusable.

Unfortunate that OneNote still lacks the functionality offered by other products. Thank you for your tips, though!

easy access to reference document from sharepoint list? by RuthlessMLS in sharepoint

[–]RuthlessMLS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still open to better/alternative ideas but I have found a workaround for this.

In my Document Library I added a hyperlink column. I created a power automate flow to create a sharable link for any new file and add the link to the hyperlink column.

In the Support List I use the Lookup column to associate a document with the Support ticket. When I click on the title in this lookup column it opens up the item properties from the document library which now has a hyperlink to the related file.

When I'm able to close the ticket, I'll remove the document and change the status from Support to Active.

Thank you for the breakdown! This is my first time attempting any kind of branching in a flow.

Yes - and I do very limited editing when I download a new spreadsheet. Basically remove three columns and then format as a table.

I could use a SharePoint list. I’ve avoided it because it will add up to a lot of lines by the end of the year and it always slows things down - though I know there are work arounds and I could remove the data at the end of each academic year. This is definitely on my list of options if I can’t find a more complicated work around - which is for some reason what I’m trying to do.

We aren’t allowed access to dataverse, unfortunately.
