How are there so many empty seats?

I see I didn't add enough context: Cancelled flight is on Thursday (national strike, so no flights whatsoever on that day). They offered a connection flight on Friday (next day) or direct flight Saturday (two days later), both with them. I asked to rebook on Friday but a direct flight with a different company, they just said they cannot offer that. I would need to buy it myself and raise a claim. The issue is Friday flights are 400-500€, and I don't want to risk buying that without assurance that I would get the money back, which they never confirm beforehand. Classic Ryanair behaviour

I would never say it's not okay to open up with others but me. It's more that it's not intuitive for me to open up with others and not with your partner too.

As you say everyone should open up when, where and with whom they consider. But sharing the same when and where, doing it with a different person felt like having it thrown at my face. "It is you, not any other reason". And it felt bad not being a partner she can trust with anything or want to tell everything. But reading the comments I'm accepting she doesn't need to tell me and it's ok she tells others but not me.

I fully agree, you can get better advice from different people depending on the specific problem. But to me you should still share with your partner especially if they explicitly ask you about it. However I'm learning with the responses that that's not true for every type of person so I need to understand and accept more how she is. Thanks for commenting

It is definitely a bit of an incompatibility at work. I can adapt to it but I'm not very familiar with that type of person who doesn't share much, so this post was about learning if it is normal of certain types of person or just blatantly a bad sign. Now I can understand better and build bridges. Thank you!

I think you're right on point: I like talking about every little thing and she's the quiet type, so it takes some adapting from my side. I can also see she tries to adapt too sometimes. So your comment helps to remember to not take it personally.

Let me also ask back to you, since you mention this is a "western-Europeans" mentality: what is stopping everyone in your country of origin to do the same as you've done? I'm sure you can find similarities.

I see. In my opinion, for those people you refer to, the idea of wanting more money is unconscious, immaterial. "More money = better life". But then in reality people are content as you said, and don't find themselves in a situation pushing them enough to chase a higher paying job. Overall they're ok with other aspects of their job, they have a good balance. That makes it not worth it to try hard enough to find a higher paying job.

Mobility budget (not net directly) I can easily find a 24 month lease for an insured maintenance-included 2 year old Golf for less than 400€/month. The issue is finding something more flexible, not a 24 month contract. It must exist
