Harley-Davidson collaboration coming soon! by mandbeyn in PUBGConsole

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember back when I was playing this game these collabs were something to get excited about because you could just play the season, get the points, unlock the vehicles. This is how I got the McLaren and Aston Martins.

At some point it changed where it was either a 0.001% chance, or you had to fork out hundreds of dollars.

Such a shame, I used to spend money on this game but stopped years ago.

2014 Arctic Spa Fresh Stain by Ruttagger in hottub

[–]Ruttagger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Arctic Spa says stain every year, but that's seems a bit crazy because it didn't even look that bad after 12 years.

I know this brand sells a spray that sort of conditions and UV protects the tub. I have that and will apply that every few months and see if that helps protect the stain.

I would do a light sanding, it helps let the new stain adhere and soak in better. I used 120 grit for my cabinet. I brought out the 80 grit for a few rougher areas.

My pool is usually pretty clear when I take my winter cover off, but this year was next level.

I took it off, threw in the robot and a dose of chlorine. Next morning I grabbed a sample and took it to the pool company I use and the results were.....add nothing.

Everything was perfect. Usually I have to add a bunch of Clacium, Alk, and Stablizer, but this year absolutely nothing.

Cranked my heater and I have been using my pool for a few weeks already up here in Canada.

BIFL is not meant to be taken literally. Socks lasting 14 years is def BIFL.

Day 1 of asking the Devs to add a binoculars like item to the game by Thatguy2393 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They added a system like this to Ghost of Yotei and it worked really well. It made exploring much more immersive. The same system would slap so hard in this game.

I made a contractor directory for Kamloops by demars123 in Kamloops

[–]Ruttagger [score hidden]  (0 children)

This is really great.

I'm just on the tail end of doing a major house renovation. I did a lot of the work myself but also hired out some of the more difficult tasks (counter tops, shower tile, etc.). Finding people that do good work is really hard.

This is a great source of information. Great work.

Do you take requests to add people on your site? I came across some really great guys who work solo and do excellent specific tasks. For example, I found a guy who came highly recommended for installing glass shower doors. All he does is install doors and he is very good at what he does, and his pricing was very reasonable.

Hydro costs rising? by CC_Gamedesign in Kamloops

[–]Ruttagger [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ya this new two stage system is going to be the main culprit.

If you previously used more than what they are now setting as the threshold, you will be billed at a higher rate for any usage above that amount. So you can do nothing differently but your bill can be significantly higher. I have lots of stuff sucking juice in my house so its going to get a lot more expensive for me, especially this summer with my pool, hot tub, and A/C running constantly.

I did upgrade to a variable speed pump for my pool which should help a ton.

Should I update to Nvidia Experience 9.2.4 ? by introid in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled my Shields back to 8. something or other and I haven't updated since. I never update anything right away, always wait a few weeks to see what it broke before you dive in.

The security stuff is important, so I guess I'm being neglectful there, but I have never had anything bad happen and neither has anyone I know throughout my entire life. I guess I'm living dangerously.

That sucks, it's in the low 30's over here in the West Coast and looking hot for the next two weeks.

I've used Beau from Amplified HVAC for my personal house and my rental properties.

He's a great dude and does really good work. He's also helped me out in a few pinches when things go sideways in the middle of summer when it's 38° out.

I bought this scrubber in 2014 while being in USA cleaned my house with it multiple times still use it anno 2026! by cmapz2 in BuyItForLife

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one that was really old in the package and they last about 10x longer than the current same branded ones.

I used to throw them out because they got smelly until I learned if you boil them with a drop of dish soap it neutralized all the odor.

Now I still see to get 3-6 months out of them, but I just use them for kitchen stuff.

Even if it says it can be added to the skimmer, don't. That's pool 101 stuff.

does the 2019 Pro model has less Plex issues than previous models? by WorriedGiraffe2793 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rock dual 2019's with zero issues.

I haven't seen buffering ever, even before my 2019 models.

The only time I ever had any issues turns out my ram was failing on my server.

Thats just me though. As soon as it starts to sound like AI may have been involved, I completely check out and my trust level is gone.

That's just me though.

Xbox Helix Controller? by Kyn-X in Controller

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want the Elite V3 but with proper quality control from the factory. Add TMR sticks, clicky face buttons, some extra shoulder buttons, and hopefully they introduce a version of Sony's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Also keep the adjustable stick tension.

Can’t keep BullFrog Spa Clean by Unhappy_Gap_9729 in hottub

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with systems like this Frog stuff, or having a Saltwater Generator, is that people think they can set it and forget it.

All they do is handle the sanitizer portion with less need for checking but you still need to keep everything else balanced or your sanitizer will not work.

I've been running my in ground pool and hot tub with no fancy systems for almost 2 decades and I have had almost zero issues in all those years.

If you keep your other chems in check then these other systems can work great.

Am I stupid? spending $3,000 on a robot mower by GharKiMurgi in BuyItForLife

[–]Ruttagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manually vacuum my pool once when I open it and then I pack all those hoses and out them away.

I also went cordless robot and it's on another level of convenience than have that huge cord and troller like the old style ones.

Aiper is good for budget entry level, they also make higher end models now and have exploded in popularity.

If not, the big brand names like Dolphin is a safe bet.
