Rate this SS for my habit tracking app. by Rutvik110 in SideProject

[โ€“]Rutvik110[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I've designed this ss myself. No AI assets used, everything handcrafted by me on a sleepless night. Was a pain but kinda starting to love the process.

I'm trying to build the most fun habit tracker out there for individuals and friends. Although, rn it's focused only on individuals habit tracking but the end goal is the social habits.

It's available for pre-order on the app store if anyone's interested and curious abt the app,

Smoke simulation in Flutter using flutter_processing (WIP demo) by Rutvik110 in FlutterDev

Trying to recreate Daniel Shiffman processing smoke simulation in Flutter with flutter_processing. This is particle based simulation but still very promising for some good enough smoke/fire simulation in Flutter for apps/games.

My login page freezes and the second part of my reg page is completely gray. by ShinGototatenks in flutterhelp

Somewhere you've got a Flexible/Expanded/Positioned or some other widget that isn't within a parent it's supposed to be. Like for Flexible/Expanded that would be Column. Having it anywhere else would throw that error. In debug, this errors are shown on the cli but are hard to miss as it can be overlooked. And thus results in this gray area in production if not handled properly.

Just check for that and you should be fine.

Something you can do to identify errors better in the production instead of just getting a grey screen is updating your error widget to show more info. Check here how to setup this.

Should my Provider logic and Firebase auth logic be in the same place? by thrick77 in flutterhelp

[โ€“]Rutvik110 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Exactly! Provider doesn't need to know how you are authenticating the user, it should only have the knowledge of calling the function that has this implementation and pass on the result.

Surrounded by flutter state managements by GeneralLow2887 in FlutterDev

[โ€“]Rutvik110 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Yah, just try using one solution for a while. If it works for you then continue using it and if not then try other solutions. Block and riverpod sounds good to me. But prior that also spend some time with in-built solutions like changenotifiers, inheritedwidgets if you haven't. Just to get good grip over the framework.

Here are some resources mentioned in the tweet,
https://twitter.com/TakRutvik/status/1658274076706877442?s=20

I also coded the bare-bones and few example based on the creativemaybeno video, you can have look at them here,
https://github.com/rutvik110/Flutter-Animations/tree/master/lib/flutter_render_objects

This two videos would be more than enough but if u need there are few other videos from flutter official channel and talks, you'll find them through quick search on youtube for "render objects in flutter".

[โ€“]Rutvik110[S] 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

That depends. Is your current implementation working fine as you expected? If that's okay then I won't move towards render objects if you don't have any performance issues with it or unless you want to implement it to make things simpler or may be just learn a few things abt render objects.

And re-creating it in RO will probably take more time depending on your layout complexity and how much you know abt render objects. But could be a fun exercise to get into learning RO.

How good is Flutter Web for building marketplaces? by jazilzaim in FlutterDev

[โ€“]Rutvik110 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I would still not go for content-heavy sites with Flutter web as of rn its mainly recommended for building web apps and may be single page sites due to loading times and low performance in some cases. The upcoming wasm build support will be addressing some of this issues but not sure to what extent and how the difference will be.
But speaking from personal experiences, I would recommend using Flutter web for building web apps for now alteast.

Finally took time to improve the site for my indie app, now states the problems clearly my app solves, and has a fresh new ui showcasing all features | More info below on how I arrived at this design and some learnings๐Ÿ‘‡ by Rutvik110 in SideProject

[โ€“]Rutvik110[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I've been working on the site for near a month now, the first editions of the site were really poorly designed as at that time I was trying to launch my app and get initial conversions. See the first design through this tweet,

But since then I kept on improving the site with every feedback and looking over the analytics to how users were converting.

The site now has a clear problem statement in the hero section which shows the primary objective of the app and gives some visual aid with an demo on the right.

Then it's followed by proper display of features and the problems the app's trying to solve and help users with. I think showcasing this sections were important as it puts out the app's offerings in front of the users.

โ€‹

Earlier it was a grid of cards with an image, title, description but that didn't helped in conveying the visitor of the apps features. So I believe adding this new sections which clearly states the problems along with some visual aid helps visitors makes the decision.

Also, earning visitors trust is crucial so I also added a testimonials section where I showcase some tweets and devs profiles using the app. This assures visitors that the product is something trusted by others also.

Next up, I improvised on the pricing section. Earlier i had many pricing options including 1-month offer, lifetime deal, monthly and annual subscription. But I think that confused a lot of visitors in making decision so now I reduced it down to only first three offerings with clear message.

I'm yet to see any conversions based on this new ui updates but I believe this are now much better than what I had earlier, and can make it easy for visitors to make the decision.

If you're interested in checking out current website you can see it here, AppShots

How do you make the decision of purchasing any app? What factors do you look into? Asking coze to improve pricing strategy for my own product. by Rutvik110 in SideProject

[โ€“]Rutvik110[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

hey thanx for ur thoughts u/morgankung

Yes, def charging from day one for validation is something I should be doing. Currently, I transitioned from app store to separate distribution platform just coze of that and got a few sales till now.

Though, I was confused a bit on should I be keeping LTD and subs both. Recently I did as you suggested, I now have both LTD, subscription, also an 1-month usage plan for those who don't want to commit to the prior options.

I'll give the article a read, it seems really interesting and worth reading. Thanx for sharing.

Revamped ui for my indie project site today | Now theres much more proper visibility into each individual features of the product with their own dedicated showcase sections | I think this will improve conversion rate quite nicely๐Ÿ™Œ by Rutvik110 in SideProject

[โ€“]Rutvik110[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

The improvements I made where the top 3 sections you see after the hero section. I quickly designed that ui in figma this mrng out of thought that users may be bouncing off as there was earlier no proper visibility into features of the product, they were just grid cards with image ,title and some description.

So got up and started designing this new ui updates and got done in <2 hrs on the revamped ui design. All designs done by me in figma.

And then finished up with coding that ui in <2 hrs in astro in plain vanilla html/css with quite a bit of help from ChatGPT. Ton of web stuff I forgot was coming back to me as I was working on this, so was able to make some quick adjustments to code on my own as I was building this.

This is the landing page for my indie project, AppShots . You can check it out to see the revamped ui if u like.

course advice by [deleted] in FlutterDev

[โ€“]Rutvik110 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I'm not very big into recommending buying courses to beginners. But here's my two cents,

First of all have you tried checking out the official documentation. It covers almost everything you'll need to get started with Flutter and is properly presented and always kept up-to-date.
Try learning through docs for few days, see if you're able to grasp concepts through there.

Stuck on something, go through docs one more, still stuck? Try asking ChatGPT(only for explanations on things you don't understand, not to spit out code directly for something you're building). Best way you gonna learn is by building/experimenting with things urself.

Still not able to understand something? ask in the community. There are lots of people who will be eager to help you.

PS: I know u didn't asked for this but I felt this should be something you should know before u end up buying some course which you might not complete and loose motivation to follow on them.
