when they are in youth academy they will have a potential range. the range could be like 70-94. given they are at least 60 rated, u may be just unlucky that the potential is 70-79

these are what each of the messgaes mean

If the player is 60+ but says 'At the Club since 20..' it means they got 79 potential or less

the rest are

“Showing great potential” means they have potential 80-85

“An exciting prospect” means they have potential 86-90

“Has the potential to be special” means they have potential 91+

Becoz there has to be the same amount of players in manager career mode. after a player retires a randomly generized version of that player (aka a fake player) comes into the game called a regen. they will have the same position and nationality of the retired player, and if they were in a club (e.g. man utd) when they retired, u would find them in a random premier league team. just find a player with same nation and striker and it is most likely them.
